IMPORTANT UPDATE – INCLUSIVE & ADAPTED CYCLING CANCELLED 🌬️🚴

Unfortunately, having kept a close eye on the weather forecast, we've reluctantly made the decision to cancel tomorrow's (Wednesday 21st October) Inclusive & Adapted Cycling sessions at Par Track.

We really dislike having to cancel, especially at such short notice, but the predicted high winds aren't going to make for safe, comfortable or enjoyable cycling conditions!

The safety and wellbeing of our wonderful riders, volunteers and staff will always come first.

We're really sorry for any disappointment and appreciate everyone's understanding. 💚

Fingers crossed the weather is a little kinder to us next week and we can get back to doing what we love – getting everyone out cycling! 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

Building stronger community links across Camborne and Redruth 🚲🤝

Today, we were extremely grateful to welcome Kay Smith, Camborne Anti-Social Behaviour Officer, into The Cornwall Bicycle Project Camborne workshop for a great conversation over a cuppa with the team.

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been speaking with both Kay and Councillor James Ball about opportunities surrounding the roll out our new project "Pedal Forward". The project over the winter will support young people at risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour across Camborne and Redruth.

The conversations so far have been incredibly positive and productive, with the potential to develop some fantastic partnerships and collaborations. This is exciting news for us as a project, but more importantly, it presents an opportunity to make a real difference within our local communities. 💚

We also had a really constructive discussion around the use of illegal e-bikes, exploring potential ways to tackle the issues surrounding them. At The Cornwall Bicycle Project, safety is at the heart of everything we do. We regularly see and turn away bikes coming through our doors for repairs that are unsafe, unsuitable or potentially non-compliant with UK regulations. Working together to improve awareness, promote safer riding and address these concerns is incredibly important.

We love welcoming visitors into our workshop, giving people the opportunity to see first-hand what we do, meet the team and learn more about the positive impact our project can have.

A huge thank you to Kay for taking the time to visit us today. We’re looking forward to building on these conversations and, hopefully, turning some brilliant ideas into meaningful action over the coming months!

Meet Dan – The New Face in Our St Austell Workshop!

From 23 years in the RAF to breathing new life into bicycles, Dan is the latest addition to The Cornwall Bicycle Project team!

We're delighted to welcome Dan to our St Austell workshop, bringing with him a wealth of mechanical experience, a lifelong passion for cycling and a great sense of humour!

We caught up with Dan to find out a little more about his background, his love of all things two-wheeled and what he's looking forward to most about joining The Cornwall Bicycle Project.

🎅 It’s back, and we’re getting started earlier than ever!

The Cornwall Bicycle Project is incredibly proud to announce the launch of our 2026 Christmas Campaign! 🎁

Following two hugely successful years in 2024 and 2025, we’re back to help even more families across Cornwall enjoy an affordable Christmas.

We understand that the cost of living is making things difficult for so many families right now. Christmas can be an expensive time of year, and we want to help make things that little bit easier for parents.

🚲 A bicycle is a fantastic Christmas gift! It gets children outdoors, keeps them active, creates wonderful memories and, with the right size, can provide years of enjoyment.

But we also know how quickly children grow! That’s why, when we launched this campaign back in 2024, our pledge was simple:

❤️ Good-quality, affordable and safe children's bicycles, renovated by our charity through our alternative provision workshops.

Over the last two years, we’ve welcomed so many happy families through our doors, helping parents find great bicycles at affordable prices. The feedback has been fantastic, and we’ve even had returning customers tell us how reliable their previous bikes have been before coming back to trade them in for the next size up!

That’s exactly what this campaign is all about. Making cycling accessible, supporting families and giving children the opportunity to enjoy the freedom of two wheels. ❤️

🎁 SO, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

🚲 WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING CHILDREN'S BICYCLE DONATIONS!

We’re starting early because, over the last two years, demand has been so high that we’ve almost sold out by the time Christmas arrives!

If you have a children's bicycle sitting unused in your shed or garage, we would love to hear from you. Bikes of all children's sizes are welcome, from 12-inch wheels upwards. Your unwanted bike could become another child's perfect Christmas present! We welcome the kids bikes at Camborne and St Austell, no need to email us, just drop it in.

📅 CHRISTMAS SALES DATES

We have several dedicated Christmas sale dates coming up, which we’ll share below, giving you the opportunity to visit us, grab a bargain and find the perfect bike for your child. We are asking people to use our crowd funding set up to purchase bicycles were possible.

Alternatively, you can visit one of our workshops between now and Christmas to see what we have available.

🎉 NEW FOR 2026 – TRADE IN YOUR OLD BIKE!

This year, we’re introducing something new! Bring in your child's old bicycle when purchasing their next one, and we’ll knock a little money off the price of the replacement bike.

As children grow, their bikes need to grow with them, and we want to make that transition as affordable as possible.

🙌 We are incredibly proud of this campaign and what it means to families across Cornwall. Every bicycle we renovate helps support our charity's wider work, including our alternative provision workshops, where young people develop practical skills, confidence and qualifications.

🚲 A HUGE THANK YOU TO COUNCILLOR JAMES BALL! 🙌

A big thank you to Cllr James Ball Independent Roskear and Tuckingmill, for visiting us at The Cornwall Bicycle Project in Camborne this morning!

We’re incredibly proud to announce that we’ve recently received a grant from Safer Camborne and Redruth Partnership, to help support those in the Camborne and Redruth community who are maybe at risk of antisocial behaviour.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be developing plans for our new Pedal Forward programme, creating sessions and providing much-needed support where it’s needed most. 💙

Following a fantastic conversation with James this morning, we identified lots of opportunities to collaborate and work together to make a positive difference to local young people and our wider community.

It was also great to welcome James into our project, show him the work we do, and share how we use cycling, practical skills and a supportive environment to help people thrive.

We’re already looking forward to visiting his youth club soon and exploring some exciting activities we can do together! 🤝

This morning I popped along to The Cornwall Bicycle Project Workshops to chat about all the fantastic work they are doing.

Chatting with Anthony you can see the excitement and passion in the project wanting to do the very best for the community.

Also we will be working on some sessions for Camborne Youth Hub more on this in the coming days. Really excited to be working with the team.

We’re just four days away from releasing the details of The Cornwall Bicycle Project’s 2026 Christmas Campaign! 🎅

This will be our third year running the campaign, helping make bicycles more affordable for parents this Christmas. The last two years have been hugely successful, and we’re hoping for another fantastic year! 🎁

We often run out, so this year, we’re getting started earlier than ever, and our range of children’s bicycles is already starting to build. 🚲

Advanced Notice- No servicing in November

We have been flat out with servicing and repairs recently. It's become clear to us that everybody has had a good summer of riding, given some of the defects that we've been finding with bicycles and general wear and tear it's clear people have been riding lot's.

It's been lovely hearing customer stories of where they've been to on their travels, including a pair that bought a tandem off us back in the summer and cycled around Pembrokeshire for a few weeks.

It's lovely to hear that bikes donated to us, some that their owners felt never had a life ahead of them, have been renovated and given a new lease.

This is just a bit of a few little photos of things that we found on people's bikes this week, from snapped derailleurs, loose brakes, snapped spokes to worn pulley wheels.

This is also a bit of advanced notice, but we will not be taking on any service work in the workshops in November.

Therefore, if you wish to get a service in with us, be sure to come in in October and use our affordable services.

The reason why we're not servicing in November? Well, we'll that information will be released shortly. But we have something big planned for the end of the year 🎅.

Our van MOT ran out last week and they managed to get us in on Monday at super short notice.
