URGENT SUPPORT NEEDED TO SAY FAREWELL TO KOREAN WAR NURSE


We are seeking your help to honour Flt Off Tessa Lawless (PMRAFNS), a Korean War veteran who passed away at the age of 98. In recognition of her meritorious service, her ashes are to be interred in an RAF grave on Wednesday 18 March 2026 at 14:00 in St Mary the Virgin Church, Black Bourton, OX18 2PF.
We have been asked to provide the Branch Standard, but our standard bearers are unfortunarely unavailable. Can anyone step forward to carry the standard for this occasion?
There will be a uniformed PMRAFNS presence at the service, but any veterans of the nursing or medical services are welcome to attend and celebrate Tessa’s incredible legacy.

This year marks 15 years since the end of the Iraq War.

To mark the anniversary we are inviting all those who served in the conflict, their family members, and those who lost loved ones, to come together at the National Memorial Arboretum on Friday 22 May.

The national commemorative event will ensure the Armed Forces community’s unique contribution is not forgotten, and remember the 179 British personnel who lost their lives.

For all those who have ever attended an aircraft crashes previously or incident, done SAR or combat tours.. nothing ever prepares you for what greets you & on 21st Dec 1988.. however the true professionalism of the RAF personnel involved, from basic gunners from Catterick, MRT from across UK stations to the medical personnel from a variety of locations.. some memories live with you forever.. this tragedy will live you forever..

Members engaged with, people checking if they’re GAYE & some great networking! & we raised some funds for the branch too
