The Sandhurst & District Corps of Drums

The Sandhurst & District Corps of Drums The Sandhurst & District Corps of Drums was formed in 2005 and is based at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Berkshire.

The band caters children 7+ and also welcomes Adults/Parents interested in becoming instructors. The uniform is based on the Royal Marines Band ceremonial dress. As well as being a youth group, the band also offers instrumental courses in musical development. We have held Side Drum Diploma courses; many members of the band have passed all the basic drumming rudiments along with instrument care and

maintenance. We have also held a Bugle School and a course on playing the Bell Lyre and a second drum training school. In recognition of achievement, each course passed awards the band member a certificate and a scarlet and gold badge of the instrument (Drum, Bugle and Bell Lyre) to be worn on the tunic.
