Family Action Wiltshire Community Support and Outreach Service- Mill Race We are a day service for adults (18+ years old) with learning disabilities and/or on the autistic spectrum.

We are a day service for adults (18+ years old) with learning disabilities and/or they are on the autism spectrum and have mental health issues. We are open four days a week, and currently close for bank holidays and a short period over the Christmas. We are based at Marden House operates out of two rooms Marden House Room and Marden House Hall. Marden House is in the centre of Calne with good links to public transport. We offer a variety of activities that include cooking, craft, and life skills, to name a few. We also work closely with the local community in projects such as Calne in Bloom and Calne Lions Duck Race. (Please note this is NOT a drop in service, please contact us to plan any visits – many thanks)

Last night, Calne Town Council presented the esteemed Calne in Bloom awards, and we are thrilled to announce that our community project earned two prestigious awards: the Gold Award and Overall Winner. This recognition comes with a £110 prize, which we plan to reinvest in our garden, with a water feature being considered. Stay tuned to our page for updates on how we utilize this funding.

We extend our sincerest gratitude to our dedicated customers and volunteer, Pam, who spearheaded this project using the customers ideas to remarkable success.

Yesterday, we concluded our 'big' trips with a visit to West Somerset Steam Railway. Following a brief shower, we were treated to delightful sunshine throughout our journey. Although we did not visit the beach, the train offered stunning views while we savoured our lunch en route. The return trip was equally enjoyable, accompanied by tea and cake.

We extend our gratitude to West Somerset Railway for facilitating a superb day out, thanks to the exceptional staff. And to Barnes Coaches for providing all our comfy and accessible transport.

We are delighted to announce the September calendar, featuring our final major excursion of the year, accompanied by a diverse range of engaging activities. This month, we are introducing a Diabetic awareness group and look forward to receiving feedback from attendees.
