THE FLOOR ON TOUR

Not so long ago every town had its dance hall. It’s on the dance floor that we used to meet; the waxed floor of a ballroom, the illuminated tiles of a disco, the sticky Lino of a nightclub. All dance floors share a magical ability to transport us out from the everyday to a place of dreams, but over the years, most have disappeared.

What if a dance floor could travel? The wooden boards of a dance hall brought back to your neighbourhood… and in the company of some amazing dance artists?

In The Floor On Tour the Urban Playground Team brings nostalgic dance from across the decades together with an unexpected twist: Viennese Waltz meets Jive, Charleston meets Parkour. One hundred years of dance with, of course, one banging soundtrack.

Charlie Bicknell and Louise Innes embark on a new show with their own inimitable mash of the irreverent and surreal.

From Flashdance to Simon and Garfunkel interspersed with stimulating radio broadcasts from BBCs ‘Back Row’. Expect AC/DC and even a throw-back to Not the Nine O Clock news. Cabaret with Balls is a refreshing departure from real life and an arrival at the conclusion that it’s all bo****ks anyway.

Welcome back Benedict Cumberbatch and of course, Charlie will still be Holding out for that Hero.
