Callander Cycle Challenge Motherwell and Wishaw Rotary Club sponsored cycle event (The Callander Cycle Challenge) allows you to Individuals, groups and families are welcome.

Starting and finishing in Callander, a beautiful town set in the Loch Lomond National Park and the gateway to the Highlands will be hosted by the Rotary Club of Motherwell and Wishaw on Saturday, 28th April 2018. ts remaining, going to Rotary charities) and pledge to raise around £100 sponsorship for your chosen charity. Most of the routes are off road or along quiet back roads in this beautiful part of Scotland. Check in is at the Callander car park opposite the Dreadnaught Hotel. Registering is simple

Carefully choose a route and click to register, complete the registration and pay the registration fee, then we will issue you with starting instructions and some useful information for the day. The routes will be marked out with posters. The starting point and registration point is in the car park across from the Dreadnaught Hotel at the north end of Callander. Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available at Strathyre Village Hall (11.00am to around 15.30pm). The road in Strathyre is quite busy so we advise that participants dismount at the post office and walk the 100 yd to the hall. Juice is available on route (Stank, Strathyre, juice and mars bars at Balquhidder and juice at Killin). We’d be thrilled to have your support and simply ask you to raise as much money as you can for your selected charity. We’ll send you some quick and easy fundraising ideas . All we ask is that you raise as much as you can to support all the good work of your chosen charity. Route 1 is Callander to Strathyre – 18 miles

This is a family route suitable for children (around 8yrs+) and takes around 2-3 hours following the old railway line from Callander, past the Roman fort, up the side of the falls of Dochart and along Loch Lubnaig, across the suspension bridge into Strathyre. Return the same route. Route 2 is Callander to Balquhidder – 25 miles

Starting the same as Route 1, then from Strathyre you follow the unlisted back road through the Strathyre forest to Balquhidder. This is a family route suitable for children (around 8yrs+) and takes around 4-5 hours. Rob Roy McGregor is buried in the church yard in Balquhidder. Approx 25-miles. Route 3 is Callander to Killin – 48 miles

Starting the same as Route 1 & 2 but from Strathyre pick up the new cycle route at the bridge in Strathyre and follow the path to the Kingshouse Road, picking up the cycle route. Follow the cycle path up above Lochearnhead and into Glen Ogle. The route continues up Glen Ogle with spectacular views down the Glen from the former railway viaduct. At the top of the Glen cross the road and follow the forestry path down into Killin. Remember if you go down into Killin you have to cycle back up. Take time to view the falls in Killin before returning the same route. You do need to be a seasoned cyclist and fit for this route.
