At last night's AGM and Cooption Meeting for Callander Community Council, we elected two new community councillors, Richard Johnson and Heather Ward. We welcome both of them to the team.

At the same time, new officers were elected as follows:
Chair - John Kennedy
Secretary - Richard Johnson
Treasurer - Ruth Barrie
Planning Officer - John Kennedy assisted by Fiona Kerr

We thank the out-going officers for all their work over the past year and wish the newly elected officers all the best for their term in office.

UPDATE TO PREVIOUS NOTE:
Please note Aros Lane (by the Co-op) in Callander is due to be closed for work.
The COUNCIL made The Stirling Council (Aros Lane, Callander) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic and Suspension of No Entry) Order 2025 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) on 15-8-25.
This Order will close:
AROS LANE For its entire length from 10-9-25 until 21-11-25 to facilitate roofing works.

The Order will also suspend the no entry:
Aros Lane From Pearl Street to Aros Lane.
Access for residents and emergency services will be maintained
Alternative Routes: via A84, South Church Street, Pearl Street and vice versa

TREE NOW CLEARED AND ROAD IS FULLY PASSABLE, many thanks to those who cleared it.

A tree is down across one side of the road where Ancaster Road turns into Station Road. Road is passable with care. The Authorities have been informed.

Announcement from Stirling Council about today's weather:
With the arrival of Storm Floris today (4 Aug), the Met Office has issued an Amber Warning for strong winds across most of Scotland, including the Stirling Council area, with heavy rain also forecast.

The Amber Warning is in effect from 10am until 10pm. A Yellow Weather Warning for strong winds is in place from 6am until midnight.

There is a high risk of disruption and travel conditions may be hazardous. Police Scotland has advised that extra caution should be taken by all road users and to plan ahead and avoid unnecessary travel.
