Traditional Scottish kiltmaking is a remarkable craft, but like many heritage skills it faces an uncertain future unless new people have opportunities to learn.
At Làmhan, we’re exploring how traditional kiltmaking and textile heritage skills can be preserved and passed on to future generations. As part of this work, we’re gathering information about interest in learning these skills, from introductory workshops through to the SVQ in Kiltmaking.
Whether you’re a young person considering future opportunities, a parent, teacher, textile enthusiast, heritage supporter, or simply someone who values Scotland’s traditional crafts, we’d love to hear from you.
The survey takes just a few minutes to complete:

Please feel free to share with anyone who may be interested, particularly schools, youth groups, heritage organisations, textile communities, and those with an interest in Scottish culture and traditional skills.
Thank you for helping us understand how these important skills can be kept alive for future generations 🙂
