Thanks to everyone who came along to Friday's Pressing Matters event at the Kirk Hall alongside Climate Action Callander - CAC and many others! Lots of apples from the community orchard at McLaren Leisure Centre, plus from across Callander gardens, were pressed into delicious juice🍏It's great to have a now have a press available locally - get in touch if you'd like to know more 🍎Thanks FEL Scotland for the funding support which helped to make this happen!

Join us for Apple Pressing this Friday 3-6pm, Kirk Hall! A few of the CADHS team and Climate Action Callander - CAC were at the McLaren Leisure Centre picking some apples from the Community Orchard and testing our new Press - thanks to funding from FEL Scotland. Join us to taste, bring a bottle to take some away or bring along your apples to press - something for everyone including lots of other activities!

🌼🌻Garden Competition Results 2025🌼🌻
Thanks to all who entered this year’s Garden Competition! Here’s the recap of the results…

The Callander Community Council “CCC” Best Kept Garden competition was judged by David King and Mike Luti.
🌻The winner of the small garden competition was Agnes Baird of Pearl Street with Charlotte Wood of Camp Place as runner up.
🌻The overall winner of the CCC Cup for the Best Kept Garden and winner in the large garden category was awarded to Angela Harvey of Ancaster Road with Callander Youth Project awarded runner up.

The Callander and District Horticultural Society now sponsor the remaining garden competitions which were also judged by David King and Mike Luti. The winners in each category were as follows:
🌼Best kept window box, hanging basket or container – Jan Halliday, South Church Street
Runner Up – Callander Youth Project, Highly Commended – Mhairi Stewart
🌼Best kept garden area (group) – Under 12 – Lillie Bell Devlin and Daniel Wood (Joint winners)
Runner up – Callander Nursery

Big thank you to everyone who came along to our Annual Show this year, despite the fluctuations in temperatures over the last few months there were lots of fabulous entries! Well done to everyone who put exhibits we noticed some people entering for the 1st time which was fantastic,
Also the people who jumped on the free shuttle bus to and from the show we loved seeing you!
I huge thank you must go to the small committee who put together this show
From finding judges (big thank you to the judges and scribes) to coming up with the schedule and so much more!
The Fingland Family who allow us to use
" Torrie Barn" as a venue for the show as iam sure you will agree it's a beautiful setting and allows us the space to show the exhibits also nice space for a cup of tea and a cake!!!
So despite the weather a fantastic day was had, well done to everyone a full list of winners will be posted shortly,
