❤️ Cadets Save Lives ❤️

First aid is one of the fundamental skills that we teach in the RAF Air Cadets, giving the staff and cadets the confidence and knowledge to step in when needed.

There are multiple levels of learning within the first aid curriculum, with a progressive syllabus starting at Essential First Aid all the way to the gold badge - Instructor First Aid.

By gaining these St Johns accredited certificates, cadets are able to offer their help to those who may need it. Recently, 1223's Cadet Ambler alongside his mother, who is the chair of our Civilian Committee administered first aid to both children and adults after witnessing a road traffic collision - highlighting the importance of learning these skills.

🎉Celebrating our volunteers🎉

Being a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer is a role like no other. Staff both on the squadron and within the wider organisation often put in countless hours in order to provide cadets with unforgettable experiences.

Many come from all different walks of life and are able to pass on knowledge and skills to the next generation. It is a big commitment, but one that is fulfilling when the cadets undoubtedly go on to do great things.

To our Civilian Committee, Padre, Civilian Instructors, SNCO's and Officers - thank you! Without you there would be no cadets!

✈ Proud to be part of our local community ✈

Being a cadet isn't just about learning new skills and taking part in exciting activities - we also look for ways to give back to our local community

The squadron regularly get involved in local events, from fundraising, helping out at sporting events and assisting with the annual Poppy Appeal

We are proud to see cadets representing 1223 and showing the commitment, teamwork and community spirit that being a cadet is all about!

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to everyone in our local community who supports our cadets - we couldn't do it without you!

REGIONAL REPRESENTATION

Well done to our cadet who represented the Wing at Regional Activity Day. A tough competition this year with very close scores and some impressive results for No 1 Welsh Wing. The work for building next year’s team starts in early 2027. Next year we want No 1 Welsh Wing to be the best in Wales & West

🎉 The first ever National Cadets Week kicks off today! 🎉

This week is all about celebrating the cadets and staff who make up the uniformed youth organisations

Look out for our posts across the week as we showcase the amazing work our cadets do...and hopefully convince some of you to join us! ✈️

We asked Cadet Flight Sergeant Robinson what her favourite activity has been so far in cadets:

"I’m Cadet Flight Sergeant Robinson and I have been in 1223 (Caerphilly) Squadron Air Cadets for 3 years now. My favourite ever cadet event was the Nijmegen March which I was fortunate enough to be chosen to compete earlier this year. The march was definitely a challenge however my resilience has much improved due to the incredible physical and mental stress of the event. The friendships I made with the team I completed it with are ones I will cherish for the rest of my life"

🎉1223 Success🎉

After missing out by one point last year, the cadets were determined to take home the trophy at Wing Activity Day - and that they did!

They have put in months of hard work and preparation in order to get here and we could not be more proud of them.

Now we have to defend our title...
