At Caerphilly Boxing Club we provide an enjoyable, hard working environment where people work alongside each other to better themselves both physically and mentally. We take anyone who is interested regardless of age but the recommend youngest age is 8-9 but younger children are welcome if they show a keen interest to the sport. No previous experience is necessary we will tech you from the start. Boxing is a fantastic sport to improve fitness, agility discipline and confidence. Contrary to popular belief, boxing is a very safe sport and Injuries are quite uncommon. Training

Equipment: No equipment is needed at the start. As you progress you might want to purchase your own hand wraps and mouth guard if you want to spar and suggest you purchase your own gloves, but this is optional.

Last night we had young Duffy out for his first bout of the season at the All Saints Show.

We knew this was going to be a tough test, boxing against the experienced Frankie Gammer, but Duffy was up for the challenge and gave it his absolute best! 💪

Both boys were well matched and boxed brilliantly, giving it their all. Unfortunately, Duffy came away with a loss on a split decision, but there’s plenty to take away from the experience.

We rebuild, get back in the gym, work on what we need to improve, and go again! 👊 Every bout is a learning experience, and we’re proud of Duffy for stepping up and giving it everything he had.

A massive thank you to everyone who came along and supported Duffy, and to everyone who continues to support us. It’s always appreciated! ❤️

We dust ourselves off, learn from it, and come back stronger! 🥊💪

🥊 5 NEW MEMBERSHIP SPACES AVAILABLE! 🥊

We currently have 5 spaces available for new members aged 10–16 years old.

📅 Training is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
💷 £5 per week
🥊 £20 joining fee

We expect members to attend at least 3 sessions per week, so please only enquire if you can commit to regular training.

These spaces are STRICTLY for children aged 10–16.

What a night of boxing! 🔥🥊

Tonight we travelled west with our young Gino, who was boxing on the Prize Fighter Home Show, an event that never disappoints! We were absolutely delighted to be invited back once again, and what a night it turned out to be.

The place was absolutely packed, the atmosphere was electric, Sweet Caroline was blasting out, and then it was time to enter the ring! 🥊🔥

From the opening bell, it was clear we were in for a war.

Gino was up against Joseph Thomas, and from the very first bell both boys went at it.

The first round was extremely close, with both boys showing great skill, courage and determination. I had Gino edging it.

The second round was just as competitive. Both lads were having success, standing their ground and landing some big, heavy shots. This time, the round went to Joseph.

Then came the third.

Both boys knew this fight was right on a knife edge, and they left absolutely everything in that ring. Gino and Joseph went toe-to-toe in another incredibly close and competitive round, giving the packed crowd exactly what they came to see.

Then came the judges’ scorecards…

The decision went to Joseph Thomas.

No complaints from us whatsoever. It was a fair decision in a fantastic fight between two very evenly matched young boxers. Both boys gave everything they had, and both can walk away with their heads held high. 👏🥊

A massive thank you to Kevin and the whole Prize Fighter team for having us once again. Events like this are what boxing is all about!

Thank you to the Western Division RNJs and, of course, our brilliant home support, Oliver and Duffy, for being there and making the night even more special.

A huge special thank you to Stuart for all his help and support tonight, and for everything he continues to do for us and the gym. It is genuinely appreciated. ❤️

And finally… Gino.

As his coach, I honestly couldn’t be prouder.

This was without doubt Gino’s best performance to date. The result might not have gone our way tonight, but performances like this show exactly what he is capable of.

He showed courage, heart, skill, determination and the willingness to stand in there and fight until the very last bell.

The win will come. Tonight was another huge step forward.

Keep your head up, Gino. You did yourself, your family, your team and your gym proud. ❤️🥊

🥊 FIRST ONE BACK AND A WIN FOR OLIVER HESTER! 🥊

Last night we travelled down to Llanelli with our boy Oliver Hester for his first fight of the new season.

It was a proper 50/50 fight on paper, two very evenly matched boys, and that’s exactly how it played out in the ring. A tough, competitive fight from the first bell to the last, with both lads leaving everything in there.

After a very close contest, Oliver got the win on a split decision! 👊🥊

We couldn’t be prouder of him. First fight back after the break, a difficult opponent and a close fight, exactly the kind of bout that gives a young boxer valuable experience. Plenty to take away and plenty to work on, but most importantly, we’ve started the new season with a win! 💪🔥

A massive thank you to everyone who travelled down to support Oliver. The noise and support from ringside means more than you know. ❤️🥊

A huge thank you to all our coaches at Caerphilly Boxing Club for the continued hard work, dedication and hours they put in at the gym. The work behind the scenes is what makes nights like this possible.

Please make a note of these important dates and, where possible, avoid booking holidays on these days. The Welsh Championships only come around once a year, so it’s really important that everyone is available to take part and support the team.

This isn’t a technical boxing class, it’s a fun, high energy session focused more on fitness, strength & conditioning, using boxing-based exercises.

🥊 CAERPHILLY BOXING CLUB — BACK TO TRAINING 1ST SEPTEMBER 🥊

I hope everyone has had a great summer break and has enjoyed some well-deserved time away from the gym. I’d like to thank you all for your continued support and commitment to the club.

It’s now time to get back to training, and Caerphilly Boxing Club will reopen on Tuesday, 1st September. I’m looking forward to welcoming everyone back and getting the hard work started again.

Before we return, please take note of the following:

Carded Boxers:
All carded boxers will need to ensure their Sport 80 registration is renewed and up to date. I am also currently in the process of arranging a doctor to carry out the required new medicals for our carded boxers. I will provide further details as soon as the arrangements are confirmed.

Non-Carded Boxers:
All non-carded boxers will need to make sure they are registered on Sport 80.

I appreciate everyone getting these things sorted as soon as possible. It helps us keep everything organised and ensures that we can continue providing a safe, professional and well-run boxing environment for everyone at the club.

Enjoy the remainder of your summer break, and I look forward to seeing you all back at Caerphilly Boxing Club next Tuesday. 🥊
