Summer is on its way, so say ! As you head to the water to relax, remember to float to live if you get into difficulty...

Tilt your head back until your ears are underwater
Relax and try to breath normally
Move your arms and legs gently to help you stay afloat
Once your breathing is under control, call for help or swim to safety

For Week, we're supporting our friends to encourage everyone to stay safe in, on and around water.

If you are planning your weekend adventures, it’s best to leave the beers at home!

Alcohol and water don’t mix: it will affect your judgment, which may result in dodgy decisions, leading you and/or your mates into trouble.

…and if you see someone in trouble in the water, remember

- Call 999
- Encourage them to float on their back
- Throw something that floats - never enter the water yourself

1. Cold water shock can kill, even on a warm day. If you find yourself struggling in the water. Remember to …

- Don't panic
- Tilt your head back, with your ears under water
- Use your hands to stay afloat
- Control your breathing
- Then call for help

2. Know what to do in an emergency -

- Call 999
- Encourage them to float on their back
