New Forest Young Carers Service New Forest Young Carers supports over 230 Young Carers in many ways from signposting and listening to fun activities. Powered by Community First.

We provide a range of support services for Young Carers and their families in the New Forest area. What we do -
Information
Whether it’s age-appropriate materials to explain someone’s illness or details of
support services, we can help. Someone to talk to
Providing a non-judgmental listening ear forour Young Carers and their families through one-to-one work and mentoring. Time out from caring

etimes, we organise trips and activities. Our Young Carers get a break from their responsibilities and can meet new friends. Support in schools
Young Carers often tell us they find things hard at school. We’re working with schools to try and make things easier and lots of schools now have someone you can go and see if you’re a carer. Family support
We know that sometimes all our Young Carers want is help at home so we can help
access support services and benefits to make things easier. Who can refer?

• Health care professionals
• Families/self-referral
• Anyone who is contact with the family

How you can help
• Volunteer
• Donate gifts or funding
• Look out for Young Carers and refer them
• Host awareness raising workshops

We've got our final youth club of June today at the Ashley youth/community hub by New Milton Rugby Club.

We'll be there from 4-5.30pm for games, crafts, snacks and hopefully a trip to the park if the weather is nice!

All age young carers welcome to join us and you can bring a friend/sibling.

If you're looking for something to do later, we'll be with the Youth Options team at the Garage, Eling Rec ground from 4.30-6pm.

There'll be the usual mix of things to do - games, music, crafts etc - plus tuck shop!

This session is for age 9 and up. You can bring a friend/sibling if they're old enough, but there is a first time visit form for parents to complete.

It's the first Wednesday of the month so that means it's young carers youth club at Carver's Clubhouse, by the skatepark in Ringwood from 3.30-5.30pm today!

All age young carers are welcome to join us and you can bring a friend/sibling if you want.

There'll be games, chat and of course, snacks/tuck shop!! Get in touch if you need any more info.

So we might have gone slightly off track, and the reptile centre doesn't have reptiles any more but we've still enjoyed a nice walk and seen a slow worm and a dung beetle and finally made it back to the picnic benches!

One of our Young Carers has unfortunately just had to drop out of next week's water activity day at Gins, near Beaulieu so we have a space available.

You must be age 8 or up for this activity and able to spend the whole day 9.30-3.30 with us and the amazing volunteers and instructors from the Royal Southampton Yacht Club Trust.

Get in touch if you'd like to join us - please call us and leave a message on 0300 500 8085 then option 6 for anyone from the Young Carers team. One of us will get back to you as soon as we can, although please note it might not be until Tuesday morning now because of staff leave and the bank holiday.

It's our Ashley/New Milton youth club session today from 4-5.30pm. Young Carers of all ages are welcome to come and join us for games, crafts, snacks and maybe a trip to the park if the weather improves!!
We're in the building by the New Milton Rugby Club and there's plenty of parking nearby.
You can bring a friend/sibling if you want as well.

UPDATE - - We've just heard that there are some issues with the building so today's session will still go ahead but we'll be outside instead. This means you might want to bring your own snacks/drinks as tuck shop won't be serving

We're back with the Youth Options team today from 4.30-6pm for the usual mix of games, crafts, and chat

Young Carers age 9 and up are welcome to this session and you can bring a friend/sibling. If it's your first time joining us, there is a short form a parent will need to complete.

Paid parking over the road in the big Rumbridge Street car park and the Garage is just on the right of the entrance to Eling Recreation ground by the crossing. But get in touch if you need help finding us or want more details.
