The Courthouse Shared Space Creative Hub

The Courthouse Shared Space Creative Hub Bushmills Courthouse was built by the MacNaghten family of Dundarave Estate in 1834, to serve as a Petty Session Court in the area.

This prominent building, at the heart of Bushmills Conservation Area, has been empty since the late 1960s and was acquired by Enterprise Causeway in 2016. Having secured โ‚ฌ7.8m funding from the European Union's PEACE IV Programme, The Courthouse Shared Space Creative Hub project saw the restoration and new extension of the former derelict, Grade B1 listed building, transforming it into a cross-comm

unity, cross-border, Creative Hub for use by all communities. The PEACE IV Programme is managed by the Special EU Programmes Body. Match-funding for the project was provided by the Department for Communities, Northern Ireland and the Department of Rural and Community Development, Ireland. Running in parallel with the capital build element of the project was an extensive outreach engagement programme for nearly 4,000 individuals from across the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough area. It saw delivery of a wide-range of workshops, event, and cross-border study visits. Participants of all ages had the opportunity to explore and understand the rich and diverse heritage, culture and traditional crafts of the area, meet with others from different backgrounds and develop skills and experience in new and emerging art forms.

We loved meeting you all and hearing you singing songs from the event as you walked off into the night.
