Thank you to everyone who has dedicated a sunflower in memory of someone special or to support the work of Bury Hospice. Together, you have raised over £22,000.
The sunflower is the national symbol of hospice care, and it is lovely that all the sunflowers are on display in our beautiful gardens this 'Hospice Care Week'.
Sunflowers are available to collect on Sunday, October 11th between 12 noon and 2pm and on Tuesday, October 13th between 6pm and 8pm. The sunflowers are also available to collect on weekdays between 9am and 6pm.

Registrations are now open for Strictly Best Foot Forward 2027. We are looking for contestants to join the glitz and glamour of the ballroom in our Strictly-style contest for our biggest fundraiser of the year, led by volunteer, Deborah Lisle. Each year the event sees contestants take to the stage to showcase their skills in front of a panel of judges in a bid to be crowned the champion. You don’t have to be a dancer, most people that enter have never danced before. Participants are asked to commit to raising £500 each. The participants will undergo 12 weeks of lessons, with dance teachers who give their time for free. There will be a taster day on Sunday, October 25th at LARK Dance Drama & Gymnastics for anyone who is interested in taking part. Today marks the start of Hospice Care Week.
This year’s theme is ‘Don’t Leave Hospice Care to Chance' 💜
Hospice care eases the physical and emotional pain of death and dying. Letting people focus on living well until the end of their life.
Every day we see the difference that compassionate, specialist palliative and end-of-life care can make to local people and their families when they need it the most. Throughout this week, we will be shining a light on what hospice care really means, celebrating the people and community behind Bury Hospice and joining Hospice UK in saying: don’t leave hospice care to chance. Help it to be there, for all, for now, forever.

Bury Hospice is hosting a fashion show, ‘The Devil Wears Preloved,’ which is taking place at Greenmount Old School on Saturday, October 24th between 2pm and 6pm.
The event will be hosted by our Strictly Best Foot Forward compere, Paul Condon.
Guests will be able to shop at boutique stalls and enjoy live music and entertainment from Toni Lee Vocalist before being given a glimpse of Bury Hospice’s winter and Christmas collection.
All of our models have a personal connection with the Hospice and the catwalk will showcase a selection of clothing from our charity shops including casual wear, evening wear, wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, shoes and accessories, which have all been donated to our charity shops.
Every item in the collection has been handpicked by our experienced retail team and will be available for sale after the show.
Tickets cost £15 for adults and £5 for children and include access to the fashion show, the chance to shop runway looks and a welcome drink (Aperol Spritz for adults and a soft drink for children).

A huge congratulations to Harry for raising over £2,000 from completing the 4k route of our Memory Walk for his hero, his uncle Kris.
This morning, Harry visited Bury Hospice with his mum, sister, grandma and grandad for a big cheque presentation to acknowledge his fabulous achievement.
Well done Harry, your uncle Kris would be very proud of you 💙

A group of thrill-seekers took a leap of faith on Sunday by abseiling down Peel Tower to help raise vital funds for Bury Hospice.
