We had a superb 5 - 6 weeks running our Summer Holiday Club, which finished on Friday.

As well as Outdoor weekly football and indoor sports we also went on multiple trips throughout the summer. It was a fantastic summer for the 50 young people attending daily.

📢 NEW WEEKLY TIMETABLE – BURY DEFENCE ACADEMY 🥊🥋

We’ve updated our weekly timetable, with some changes to our Sunday and Wednesday sessions.

🤼 NEW SUNDAY SESSION
12pm–1pm – Jnr Wrestling (Ages 5–14)

🥋 Jnr BJJ is now 1pm–2pm (Ages 5–15)

🥋 Sunday BJJ No Gi is now 2:15pm–3:45pm (Ages 14+)

🥊 Sunday MMA is now 3:45pm–5:15pm (Ages 14+)

And on Wednesday:

🥋 BJJ No Gi – 7:30pm–9pm (Ages 14+)

We have had a fantastic few weeks with our Summer Holiday Club with trips to Peel Tower, Vue Cinema, Gullivers World, LaserQuest, Bowling as well as a visit from the Local Police. Congratulations to all involved!

We are half way through our Summer Holiday Club and its been a fantastic few weeks with around 50 - 60 young people attending daily.

As well as various indoor sports on offer, there have been visits to Heaton Park, Burrs, Arcade Club, Hollywood Bowl Bury and we also had a visit from Carl montlake from the Harmony Youth Project displaying a mock up prison cell in the back of a van.

Summer Holiday Club

Monday to Friday
10am - 3pm
Starting Wed 22/07 - Fri 28/08
For age group (5 - 16)

Indoor activities: football, circuits, dodgeball, boxercise, tug of war, classroom activities.

Outdoors activities: Visits to local parks and other sports such as cricket, rounders, football. Various other outdoor trips also planned.

Price: Free for those in receipt of HAF vouchers. For none HAF young people: £10 per day (this includes a healthy meal).

We’ve made some exciting updates to our timetable, including new junior classes and a time change to improve our Saturday sessions 👇

👊 What’s New:
✅ Junior Boxing (Ages 4–7) – Saturdays at 11:00am (45 mins)
✅ Junior Boxing (Ages 8–10) – Saturdays at 12:00pm (45 mins)

⏰ Time Change:
🔄 Junior Boxing (Ages 11–16) on Saturdays now runs at 1:00pm – 2:00pm (previously 12pm)

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗞𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝗽 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗯 👊

On Sunday 12/04/25, we hosted an incredible event with 57 bouts and 114 boxers stepping into the ring — from body-only contests to full contact fights. The atmosphere was unreal, with over 300 spectators coming out to support 🙌

We also had some amazing guest speakers sharing powerful messages, making it more than just a boxing event — this is what our community is about.

We’re proud to announce that £1,500 (50% of ticket sales) has been donated in honour of our ex service user, Mohammed Isa Afzal ❤️

A huge thank you to Coach Michelle for the matchmaking, and to all the organisers, volunteers, and staff who helped make the day run smoothly.

This is just the beginning… more events coming soon. We hope to see you at the next one 👊
