📣 September Conquer the Wild: Mam Tor & Kinder Scout 🥾 🏃‍♀️

September's Conquer the Wild adventure takes us back to the Peak District to discover the iconic Mam Tor and Kinder Scout.

This is a challenging route starting in Edale taking part of the Edale Skyline - and all the breathtaking views that comes with it.

The route is approximately 11 miles with plenty of ascent.

As with every Conquer the Wild event, our Hikers and Runners will start from the same point before setting off in opposite directions, crossing paths along the route as they take on their own unique challenge.

Without any doubt, it's one that is definitely not to be missed!

As you pedal, you’ll guide your very own personal moth projection through the darkness, following its journey towards a spectacular giant glowing moon installation! 🌒

Perfect for families, young people and adults alike, it’s an amazing opportunity to experience cycling in a completely different way: combining movement, projection, light and technology to create one of the must-do experiences at LET’s Do Lights!

And, don’t worry if your bike needs a little TLC, we have a ‘Dr Bike’ onsite offering FREE bike checks and minor bike repairs! 🙌

Led by talented local artists, these informal sessions gently guide you step-by-step to create your own unique artwork - no pressure, no experience needed, just time to unwind and enjoy the process.

📣 WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT!!! 👀👇 🥳

A massive amount of congratulations to our incredible young people who have completed their Gold and Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions in the beautiful Eryri this week! 🥇🥈

What an adventure, and epic challenge, truly experiencing some of the very best that Snowdonia has to offer! ⛰️💚

Some challenging terrain, but the spectacular views were a distraction from the tired legs - these young people demonstrated incredible resilience, determination, teamwork and positivity throughout and deserve all the praise for what they achieved.

DofE expeditions are about so much more than simply reaching the finish: they are about overcoming challenges; supporting one another; developing independence; and discovering just how much they capable of achieving as a team.

And, as if the expedition hadn’t already been memorable enough, there was one final experience waiting for them on the journey home…
We pulled into the motorway services to experience the solar eclipse together - attempting to make use of a Croc to observe the it! 😂
A pretty special way to bring an incredible few days of adventure to a close!

It has been an absolute privilege for The Sunnywood Project team to watch these young people take on their challenges, grow in confidence and hopefully create lifelong memories.

We couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them. 💚
