We will be delivering our 90 minute su***de prevention training course to anyone who works or volunteers in the third sector for a special rate of £10.

On October 14th we are hosting our 2nd Bury Su***de Prevention Conference with the focus on supporting children and young people.

This is going to be an incredible day of learning for anyone working to support young people in education, social care or employment.

We are still looking for local businesses who may wish to sponsor this event. Ticket sales alone don't cover our costs but we believe it is so important to get that learning out there so we can reduce the number of su***des in our community.

The Month of Hope is the time between World Su***de Prevention Day on Sept 10th and World Mental Health Day on October 10th

During that time we will be hosting some really important training that can help support people who may have thoughts of Su***de.

On the 10th we have some part funded training for anyone who works within the charity sector or community groups. 90 minute training for just £10 per attendee

On the 22nd and 29th Sept we have some places left for fully funded training for anyone working in the hospitality sector.

September 10th is World Su***de Prevention Day and once again we will be holding our annual vigil in memory of those we have loved and lost to su***de across the borough of Bury.

It is a time of reflection, to continue to raise awareness around the need for better support for people in crisis and sadly for those of us left behind.

It is also a time to walk together on this journey and find friendship and support together so please join us for refreshments afterwards at The Big Fandango

As part of our activities during this period we will be running a special 90 minute Su***de Prevention session for any 3rd sector organisations, charities or community groups across Bury.

For this day only we will be offering a specially reduced fee of £10 to secure your place and all monies go towards helping us continue to do the work we do across the borough.

You will learn to spot the signs and how to have a conversation that could save someone's life.

Our quilting group meets every Thursday morning and they really do create some amazing things!!

All levels of ability and new budding quilters are always welcome .

Our last session before summer holidays is next Thursday and then normal service resumed in September for lots of stitching fun!!!

Its getting closer to our conference and people have asked is this event suitable for me?

This year our su***de prevention conference is about keeping children and young people safe. Su***de is the biggest cause of death amongst the under 25's but with training, an understanding of risk and knowledge of the support out there we can reduce those figures.

If you role involves contact with families and children, if you in are in education, a public focused role or health care. You will pick up valuable skills on what will be an incredibly special day.

The first Saturday of each month is our peer support group for anyone 18+ who has loft a loved one to su***de. We meet 1:30 - 3pm at The Big Fandango on 34 Bolton Street, Bury BL9 0LL

It's a safe space be with other people on the same path to talk and find support. All welcome, you don't have to do this on your own.

Our youth group is from 3pm - 5pm . This isn't a drop in service, in the first instance parents or carers can email us at : [email protected]. This group is not counselling, it's activity based in a safe supported space.
