🥾 A rather lovely soirée 🥾
Last month, at the Base in Nuttall park, our phenomenal volunteers spent time together to chat, enjoy delicious food and relax as part of our “Valuing Volunteers” evening
A huge thank you to BE DELICIOUS CATERING for the gorgeous spread, to Nuttall Park for allowing us to use the Base for our event, and to Bury VCFA and Bury Council for facilitating this funding, and supporting the group with the grant application.

🥾 “The Callender Girls and Boys” 🥾
Peter, one of the group’s wonderful volunteers came up with that fantastic name, perfect to describe the area tackled yesterday!
A huge thank you to the 13 hard working volunteers who came along yesterday, and a special shout out to Robert, a local resident who came over and very kindly supplied the team with brews.

We will be returning to the same spot at 10am on Saturday 6th June to complete the task. We also held a Valuing Volunteers event recently. Keep an eye on our page for photos!

🥾 A Successful Woodland Task Event! 🥾 Twelve determined volunteers helped to improve access within and around Grants Wood, along with clearing litter and generally tidying up!
As it was Easter, Hot Cross Buns were also enjoyed.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, especially on a Bank Holiday Weekend. It’s always lovely for people to come together and make a difference.
Our next task event will be May 2nd at 10am. More details to follow! 🥾

🥾 The Cobbles of Holcombe 🥾
With Peel Tower in sight, and in dry conditions, eleven enthusiastic volunteers ventured into Holcombe to tidy and improve access on two public paths. Thank you to the people walking up to the Tower, and the local residents (with many beautiful dogs) for your lovely comments and support.
We meet up on the first Saturday of every month to enjoy time outdoors, keep active and help the community.

🥾 Highlights of February’s Task Morning based in Summerseat! 🥾

-9 fantastic volunteers including someone working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award. A huge thank you to all our volunteers for your support and hard work.
-Spotting the train! 🚂
-The plan was to clear as much debris as possible from this well used path, and the group certainly achieved this, exposing how wide the path really is without the mud and leaves. The group tackled a larger section of the path than was anticipated!
-The birds! The Merlin App was incredibly useful for identifying the various birds heard during this task. (See picture)
-The weather was kind, with pockets of sunshine ☀️

🥾 A huge thank you to the public using the path who provided kind words and encouragement, and to the fantastic volunteers who came along to help their local community. 🥾

🥾 🌳 Six selfless champions worked together yesterday morning to clear one of the main paths into Redisher Wood Local Nature Reserve, a 14 hectare ancient woodland, helping the large number of visitors to easily access this beautiful area. 🌳 🥾
This special place has a delicate ecosystem, and keeping the pathways clear and encouraging visitors to use the dedicated paths, helps the surrounding flora and fauna to flourish. 🥾
The volunteers were joined again by Bury Council’s Greenspace Officer, who, along
with the Volunteer Officer provide ongoing practical and professional support to the group.
🎄 Christmas snacks were also included!🎄
Thank you to everyone who joined the group this year and to those who took the time to share lovely comments.
Our next task morning will be on the 3rd January. More details to follow!

🥾Kindness, cake and tea… the theme of our monthly task event held today! 🥾 Nine incredible volunteers joined the event today, clearing footpaths close to the centre of Ramsbottom.
Lovely Lynn supplied cake and the group also had a wonderful surprise in the form of tea provided by a superhero local resident. A huge thank you to everyone who came along, and to those who supported the volunteers with tea, cake and kind words of encouragement.

🥾We meet again on the 6th September, where we will be clearing a path with incredible views. More details to follow 😊
