The Ramsbottom Countryside Access Volunteers are a friendly group of likeminded individuals, who meet up once a month to clear and maintain walkways and footpaths around Ramsbottom.

🥾 ☀️ October’s task event brought the autumn sunshine, ten enthusiastic volunteers and two footpaths cleared! ☀️ 🥾
Tackling “Church Fields” path and also Kay Brow Pond, the team met so many lovely people and their equally wonderful dogs (17 dogs before we lost count)
The muddy steps and path are no more and (for now) the paths are clear!

Nine determined volunteers spent time on Saturday morning transforming this path, the starting point of a peaceful and picturesque walk.

🥾Mission accomplished on Peel Brow Path! 🥾
On Saturday morning, seven fantastic folk were clearing the central footpath on Peel Brow, with a plethora of tools, a can-do attitude and a superb team spirit.
Huge progress made with the entire path completed!
Thank you to the amazing people who come along to task events, and to the community for supporting them, with kind words, brews and appreciation.
We will next be meeting on the 5th September at 10am for our next task morning! More details to follow. 🥾

🥾 Small but Mighty 🥾 💪
Tackling an overgrown footpath near to the Old Mill Hotel was the name of the game for July’s task morning. Five magnificent volunteers managed to clear the way before the rain started on Saturday morning. They may have been small in number, but with determination, teamwork and community spirit, this beautiful path is now clear! 🥾

🥾 “The hunt for the edge of the path” was the theme for June’s Task morning. 🥾

The group met up back at Callender Street, continuing to work hard to find the edge of the path, (who knew it was that wide?!) along with a few breaks to chat and enjoy cake (thanks to lovely Lynn).
Thank you again to Robert, a wonderful local resident, who kindly offered the group brews.
It’s National Volunteer Week and we are so thankful to everyone who comes along and joins the group for task mornings.

🥾 A rather lovely soirée 🥾
Last month, at the Base in Nuttall park, our phenomenal volunteers spent time together to chat, enjoy delicious food and relax as part of our “Valuing Volunteers” evening
A huge thank you to BE DELICIOUS CATERING for the gorgeous spread, to Nuttall Park for allowing us to use the Base for our event, and to Bury VCFA and Bury Council for facilitating this funding, and supporting the group with the grant application.

🥾 “The Callender Girls and Boys” 🥾
Peter, one of the group’s wonderful volunteers came up with that fantastic name, perfect to describe the area tackled yesterday!
A huge thank you to the 13 hard working volunteers who came along yesterday, and a special shout out to Robert, a local resident who came over and very kindly supplied the team with brews.

We will be returning to the same spot at 10am on Saturday 6th June to complete the task. We also held a Valuing Volunteers event recently. Keep an eye on our page for photos!

🥾 A Successful Woodland Task Event! 🥾 Twelve determined volunteers helped to improve access within and around Grants Wood, along with clearing litter and generally tidying up!
As it was Easter, Hot Cross Buns were also enjoyed.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, especially on a Bank Holiday Weekend. It’s always lovely for people to come together and make a difference.
Our next task event will be May 2nd at 10am. More details to follow! 🥾
