While we won't be there this Saturday, we are back on the 27th June. If you've been thinking about giving volunteering a go, now's a perfect time to sign up and fill some of our future roles.

Barcode Scanners needed!

With teams chasing results at the World Cup soon, we want our participants getting theirs too!

To make this happen, we need at least 2 barcode scanners - a vital role in making sure everyone gets a result. Another marshal would be nice as well.

Saturday 30th May 2026

West Stow Country parkrun - Event 11

A BIG thank you to all of the participants, volunteers, and supporters that contributed to an excellent event at the West Stow Country Park parkrun in the UK.

It was a beautiful sunny, warm / hot day, which made for fair running conditions. A fantastic 154 park runners / walkers made it around the course.

Attending West Stow Country parkrun for the first time were 110 participants recording personal bests, congratulations.

Fabulous efforts from Owen Rees who created a new course record 16:59.

It was wonderful to see many friends and family supporters.

This is the first time Martin and I have participated at West Stow and we loved it.
Martin is injured so he volunteered and got the important job of timekeeper!

It's been on our tourist list for a few weeks. So we got up early for a drive from Lowestoft, Suffolk. It was an easy drive arriving around 8.30am. Well sign posted and a very good carpark. Plenty of spaces and reasonable parking charges. £3 for the day.

West Stow Country Park is the home of this parkrun, it seems likes a great venue. Good clean toilets, a spacious cafe, visitors centre and gift shop. This was a fantastic meeting place.

Run Director today was Chris, and it was his birthday. Chris gave a briefing, which was concise, useful and clear. He explained there are a few narrow parts to be mindful of, please keep left, overtake on the right.

We gathered at the start and left promptly at 9am - 3, 2,1 GO!

The course was mainly trail. Mostly flat, but very uneven. You really do need to watch your step.

A lovely mix of scenery if you are a plodder like me, you will appreciate this. A river, a Anglo Saxon village, woodland. Two laps and an out and back section. All around the park.

Finally it was a straight sprint back to the finishing funnel. The finish funnel and handing out of tokens was very well organised and worked well.

There were plenty of marshalls around the course to encourage and keep you on track, although it was a pretty simple course.

CONGRATULATIONS to all who recorded personal bests and / or milestones.

The event was made possible by 20 AWESOME volunteers. They truly are HIGH VIS HERO'S, it was a hot morning and they ensured the event ran smoothly.

The parkrun at West Stow Country Park is friendly and well organised. It is clear the core team know how to manage everything well.

The West Stow Country park venue is really lovely. We wonder how it might be on a cold wet day. There are fantastic children's play equipment and trails. Plenty of history to learn about and some wonderful wildlife. Nice place for a picnic and explore after parkrun is done.

Thanks again West Stow Parkrun, we will return next time we are in the area, hopefully see you again.
