A vote of thanks in this week’s Haverhill Echo - to Claire and Simon for opening up their garden and hosting the afternoon tea. Thanks also to all
those that helped, to those members that baked cakes and to the Mayor of Haverhill (Cllr Lora Miller Jones) for her support.

This awesome team **** helped collect tables and chairs from Kedington (thanks to KCA - Steve Brown, get well soon). Transported them to Bruce’s garden (Thanks to MTS Install and Stuart Westley for the loan of the van). We then set up two large marquee’s then set out tables and chairs ready for our French visitors - and the flag proudly in place too 🤩

Wow!!! What a team 🤣🤩🥰 🤣🤩😂🥰

On 5th July, the Haverhill & District Twin Town Association (HTTA) held an information stand at this year's Haverhill Show.
Amongst the activities on offer for both under and over 18s was a competition: "How long did the cycle ride take, in hours and minutes?" The challenge was based on a historic event from over 40 years ago, when two long-standing members of the HTTA (David Rinaldi & Dennis Poole) cycled all the way from the Australian Arms in Haverhill to the swimming pool (Haverhillbad) in our sister town of Ehringshausen.
They took on this gruelling 350 mile trip to raise money for a local charity, ultimately raising over £1,000—an incredible sum of money over four decades ago!
The actual time it took them to complete the journey was 94 hours. The competition winners who guessed closest to the correct time were:
• Adult Winner: Colin, (98 hours) and won two bottles of German w**e.
• Under 18s Winner: Freddie, (73 hours) and won a bag of German sweets.
A raffle was also held; this was two adults prizes of European hampers, won by Di Pannell and Dawn and the under 18’s hamper of French & German confectionary was won by Ellen.

Thanks to the HTTA committee for putting this all together and all the hard work you do to keep the Association alive 🙂
Special thanks to Kelly and the team at Haverhill and and The Haverhill Town Council
