🎉 Tomorrow evening, we launch the reimagined Bury Music Festival and explore the wonderfully eccentric world of William Walton. We are delighted to bring his magic to Bury with an opening performance of Façade by 🎶
We asked Festival Director Benedict Collins Rice why you should spend your evening with us:
“What I love about Walton’s Façade is its irrepressible sense of humour. Walton’s score mirrors this kaleidoscopic world, as he affectionately parodies and transforms styles from Viennese waltzes to jazz, popular song and music hall entertainment... More than a century after its premiere, Façade remains as fresh, surprising and entertaining as ever: a dazzling display of wit, imagination and sheer musical invention.”
A riot of wordplay, rhythm and musical surprises, Façade brings Edith Sitwell’s extraordinary poetry to life in one of the most original works of the twentieth century.
Join us tomorrow for an evening of wit, invention and unforgettable musical storytelling which is generously supported by the William Walton La Mortella Trust.
