π A truly inspiring visit to Innov8 Workshops in Bury St Edmunds π
Councillor Simon Aalders, Cabinet member for Children and Young People, spent time at Innov8, an inspiring Suffolk charity that works with children and young people who need extra support to thrive.
He said: βInnov8 is a remarkable organisation dedicated to giving children and young people the support, skills and confidence they need to achieve, learn and prosper.
βWhat stood out most was the commitment of the staff, the excellent facilities and the clear sense of purpose that runs throughout the organisation. Itβs making a real difference to lives across Suffolk.β
Their achievements over the past year speak for themselves:
β
Every child who has come through Innov8's primary provision has successfully returned to school.
β
Many young people aged 11-16 have also returned to mainstream education, while around half of those who remain with Innov8 are now applying to college.
β
This term alone, young people are sitting 28 Functional Skills Maths and English exams, opening doors to further education, training and apprenticeships. Several have already passed.
β
Unauthorised absence is below 10%, reflecting an environment where young people feel safe, supported and motivated to attend.
Combining mentoring, practical skills training and personalised learning, Innov8 helps young people re-engage with education, gain qualifications and build brighter futures.
