Sharpies Cup 2026 charity football match.

We’re pleased to share that this year’s Sharpies Cup charity football match will take place on Sunday 19th July 2026 at british_sugar_social_club.

Kick-off is 11:30am and entry is free, with everyone welcome to come along and support the day.

Sharpies Team will be taking on Risby Greens FC in memory of Gary “Sharpie” Sharpe.

This year, we’ll be raising money for St Nicholas Hospice Care and Samaritans of Bury St Edmunds & West Suffolk, two causes that mean a great deal to our family and everyone involved in the event.

There will be plenty going on throughout the day:

🍾 Adults’ tombola
👕 Signed football shirt auction
🎯 Scratch & Score
⚽ Half-time family games

Food and drink will also be available:

🍺 Bar open from midday
🍔 Hot food available
🍦 Ice cream van

Shirts, wristbands and trolley coins will also be available on the day.

Today marks four years since we lost Gary “Sharpie” Sharpe.

Four years without him here, but he is still spoken about, still laughed about, still missed, and still loved by so many people.

Sharpies Cup started because we wanted to do something in his memory. Something that kept his name going. Something that brought people together. Something positive from something so painful.

This year, Samaritans Bury St Edmunds and West Suffolk are one of the charities we are supporting, and today feels like the right day to remind people why support like theirs matters.

Please check in on your people.

Not just the ones who seem sad. Check in on the loud ones, the funny ones, the ones who always say they’re fine, the ones who keep busy, and the ones who don’t like to make a fuss.

Sometimes people are carrying far more than they let on.
And if you’re struggling yourself, please don’t keep it all bottled up. Message someone. Call someone. Say something, even if all you can say is “I’m not okay.”

You are not a burden. You matter. People would rather listen to you than lose you.
