The aim of the Theatre Royal Supporters Group is to raise funds for the Theatre Royal
Bury St. The Group endeavours to promote the work of the theatre and the benefits it offers the local community.
The Theatre Royal enjoys a close and mutually beneficial relationship with the Theatre Royal Supporters Group, a voluntary group run by enthusiastic supporters providing invaluable fundraising, which in turn contributes to the overall success of the Theatre Royal. Since the group was formed in 2014 they have already come up with lots of novel and exciting ways of raising funds. These include Bury's Got Talent, The Ding D**g Daddios - a live swing band in the Greene King Garden, An evening with MsMarmiteLover, The Ultimate Skydive Challegne, a Casino Night, car boot sales and regular prize draws. Money raised will be used for specific projects within the theatre and essential technical equipment, as well as providing funding for shows and activities aimed at specific audiences such as the Children's Arts Festival. The range of fundraising activities is extensive, and this is all achieved by local people who share a love of live theatre and the desire to help the Theatre Royal in a practical way. This additional fund raising for specific projects is separate from the £180,000 of core funding which has to be raised by the Theatre each year to keep it going.
