FIELDS OF TIME - Community Art Project

We are so close now to actually starting the sewing on the great big South Ronaldsay - South Parish field name map, which is incredibly exciting! By early December we hope to start giving out squares and sewing packs to interested participants to help create this unique patchwork. This Thursday is a chance to hear why collecting field names are so important when Dr Colin McKenzie gives a talk about the subject at the Cromarty Hall at 7pm. And I will talk about the community patchwork project. If you would like to be involved in this fantastic project we would love to hear from you. Either come a long to the talk on Thursday or drop me a message.

PHOTOS WANTE

We would love your help!

As St Mary’s in Burwick is such a special place we’ve decided we’d like to celebrate the fact by getting some mugs and teatowels printed with an image of the kirk on them. The sale of which will all go to the charity supporting the upkeep of St Mary’s. And that’s where we need your help! We’re looking for a good photo of the kirk which could then be tweaked in photoshop to look like a drawing. If you have any good photos of the kirk and would be happy for it to be changed in this way, we’d love to see them. And of course, the photographer of the chosen image will get a free mug and teatowel! What’s not to like!
