Burton Albion Supporters Football Club

Burton Albion Supporters Football Club *ACTIVE*. BASFC were established in... well, somewhere in the early 90's we presume! The work that has been put in by everybody so far has been outstanding.

Unfortunately, there is no proper trace of a continuous Burton Albion Supporters FC side as we have also come under other names in the past. The current Burton Albion Supporters Football Club has gone from strength to strength in the past few seasons, gaining more and more of a positive reputation all over the country, and making plenty of new friends along the way. With new kits, sponsorship, our

own emblem, invites to national(and international) tournaments and a tireless work ethic by all involved, the Club are forever making huge strides forwards. C'mon You Brewers! We are always on the look-out for talented and devoted players that are looking for friendly yet still competitive football on a Saturday morning. If you would like to play for Burton Albion Supporters FC, please contact player/manager Dave Goldsmith - [email protected]

BASFC Testimonial Match - 10/08/2025
All About Football 2-3 BASFC
Goals - John Rees , Kevlyn Evans x2
Assists - Joe Horsenoise Mawhinney, Chris O'Neill, Liam Eaton
MOTM - Rich Seagrave

I can't tell you how unreal it was to get the lads back on the pitch together after literal years. Was a proper BASFC fixture too, John scored a header, Kev scored 2, Rich made some of the sickest saves I've seen for the supporters and Alex Sharratt absolutely snapped Jack West in half.

If that was the last time, it was as good as it could get (barring the end). But we remember today for what it was all meant to be about.

What a bunch of lads I've played with and managed over the years.

A player we're very happy to have join us on Sunday, here to do everyone's running - Chris O'Neill

Still has the same energy levels as 20 years ago and brilliant on the ball too!

Favourite memory;
"my personal memory was scoring away at Torquay I think it was. When we played on a pitch which seemed to be marked out around the side of a hill..... The only reason it went in was because the slope of the hill caused the ball to roll away from the keeper and into the corner"

Next on the list - Shaky

Took me years to learn his real name, still not 100% on it. Shaky was a central defensive unit back in the day and a Brewer through and through.

Favourite memory;
"The best thing for me was the camaraderie of all the lads I played with and the laugh we had together both playing and going to Brewers games afterwards"

Will be great to see him on Sunday even if he's not kitting up 🀝

Next up featuring on Sunday - Jack West

Lover of rash challenges and meaty tackles. Rifle of a left boot not utilised enough. Jack produced one of the funniest BASFC moments ever last year. Cold January Saturday morning, with a bare 11 against Man Utd. At 10-1 down Jack megged their centre mid and proceeded to scream "SKILL" in his face. Fantastic.

Favourite memory;
"Id say that season where we had a class team, winning the league without winning the league doing well in the cup. Just an all round good bunch of lads that season. And cant forget the maccies breakie before an away game"

Next up is John Rees

John was with BASFC for all of my time as gaffer, and pre covid too. An absolute gentleman, strong, powerful and loved stealing people's hattricks 🫠

Favourite memory;
"Mate defo stealing your hattrick for my brace. πŸ’―"

Knew it was coming.

Although played in the early days of BASFC - Sam Fisher became a heavily important part of our post covid team that reached a cup semi and finished 2nd in the league.

Battled on in the game against Preston with a slipped disc. Loved a run further up field when allowed 🀣

Favourite memory;
"Probably when I first started playing I think i was 15 and shaky and Shane took me under their wing, first men’s football I ever played really. Used to be proper supporters football then in the non league and we’d play whoever burton were playing and then go to the game with their fans and the pub etc. second to that probably in the later years when we actually had a good team and got to that cup semi in Preston"

Midfield general up next - Kevlyn Evans

Kev was one of the better midfielders that we had over the years. Plenty of assists and playmaker awards, loved a goal but not as much as he loved taking someone's shins.

Favourite memory;
"Ayup bud. Oh that's a tough one, deffo a few.
Beating Vale away and scoring a hatrick only then for the game to not have stood for some reasons.
But probably when me and Dan against hunter, when we kicked f**k out of him for 90 mins πŸ˜‚ there's too many"

Tell us how you really feel, Kev 🀣🀣🀣

BASFC's very own Keith Gilroy - Louis Yelland

Louis loved beating a defender and could cross a ball as good as any. Scored some marvellous goals too. Always running and always gave 110%.

Favourite memory;
"Was gonna say beating West Brom, but everyone will say that so I will go for the Coventry tournament where we finished runners up πŸ‘ŒπŸ»"

Another ex gaffer and one hell of a striker, BASFC all time top goalscorer - Liam Eaton

Manager when I first arrived, we've all seen Liam when he's in the mood for goals. Seeing him break his leg when he was in class form was horrible, but watching him return and score a belter on that return I couldn't of been more proud of him. For me the best manager we've ever had.

Favourite memory;
"Honestly, I think I could write a book on all the great BASFC memories; from hammerings in the North to 3 points on the South coast. I always look back so fondly on all of it and I've got nothing but love for everybody involved in them!

A close second and personal favourite was rasping a shot into the top corner from the edge of the box in my first home game back after the leg break but the outright winner here HAS to be that game at home to WBA - all of the pain and suffering that side caused us over the years and it may have been a smash and grab performance but to keep a clean sheet against those boys AND go steal the points right at the death... wow! What a set of lads we were that day - couldn't have been prouder of every single person involved! Props to Eadesy, the WBA manager at the time, who was absent on the day but messaged me after the game congratulating us on the result. A class act."

Goals for sure on Sunday!

Next up is the other half of the Staley brothers - David Staley

Fast, energetic and very reliable. Once won an award for most polite telling off we've ever witnessed on a football pitch.

Favourite memory;
"Herman winning Man of the Match at Telford."

A man of many words!
