If anyone has any suggestions for our friends at Ilkeston Brass for a new local home for their band, please do message them.
Brass bands provide music tuition, instruments and social connection in their local communities but they do need a base with storage for all the equipment involved.
πΊ HELP ILKESTON BRASS FIND A NEW HOME πΊ
Ilkeston Brass has recently been informed that we must vacate our current bandroom at very short notice, as the building is due to be demolished because ongoing upkeep is no longer financially viable.
While finding somewhere to rehearse is relatively straightforward, finding a secure home for everything that makes a brass band possible is a much bigger challenge.
Over many years, the band has built up a substantial library of music, a full set of percussion equipment, and a stock of instruments used to support new and returning players. Without suitable storage, we face the heartbreaking prospect of having to dispose of or sell assets that are vital to the future of the band.
These instruments allow beginners to start learning without the expense of purchasing their own, and our percussion equipment and music library are essential for performances throughout the year. Losing them would have a significant impact on what we can offer the community.
We are therefore appealing to the people and businesses of Ilkeston and the surrounding area:
π Do you know of any premises that could accommodate a weekly rehearsal and provide secure storage?
π’ Are you a local business with unused warehouse, office, industrial, church, community, or retail space that might be suitable?
π€ Would your business be interested in supporting a community brass band that has been part of local life for many years?
Every suggestion, share, and conversation could help us find a solution.
Please comment below, send us a private message, or contact the band directly if you think you may be able to help.
Thank you for your support in helping keep live brass band music alive in our community.
