Burton Memorial Hall is the village hall for Burton-in-Kendal, Cumbria. A registered charity, the Hall is run by a voluntary management committee and provides facilities for a wide range of users, social groups, sports, arts, educational and other activities for all ages. Built in the 1950s, the Hall is now in need of substantial renovation and upgrading, so we need to raise a considerable amount

of money to pay for the work. A programme of fund-raising activities and events is being planned, and we hope that everyone will come along and support these and help us to provide a venue suitable for the needs of 21st century users. In 2026 and 2027 we are celebrating our 70th anniversary as a community building, serving the community in Burton-in-Kendal. We have a number of events planned, starting with a 1950's themed Afternoon Tea Dance, on Saturday 18th July, from 2pm until 5pm. There will be music and dancing, with the fabulous Rachel Mercer performing songs of the era. There will also be refreshments on sale, and a competition for the best 1950s costume. Tickets are £5 which are available from Anne on 01524 781306, or from her in the Hall on Wednesdays between 12 noon - 3pm and between 6.30 - 8.30pm. Do join us for an afternoon of fun and music and dance to celebrate the 70th anniversary of laying the Hall's foundation stone. #
