Decision making skills at 230 km into the walk weren’t the best.

The smile is giving “at least there’s only 20 km left”.

We hit our 35 km target today to complete 250 km carrying 30 kg in the 7 days of Baby Loss Awareness Week.

It’s not always been easy to pick up that weight, but every time I’ve looked there’s been my baby loss ribbon.

The only time I’ve worn that ribbon this week is when I’ve been carrying the keg. And that kept me coming back and kept me going.

More to follow, but for now thanks to everyone who has helped support us this week in whatever way.

A very tired effort today, but we got there in the end and that’s the entire Leeds and Liverpool Canal - done.

Some lovely messages of support along the way, including an amazing call from team just when it was needed!

With one more day to go, and with the Canal complete, tomorrow is all about making the distance up to 250km (250,000 metres) to represent the scale of the estimated 250,000 miscarriages in the UK each year. A symbolic target to show the extent to which baby loss - whatever the cause - is usually hidden.

Doing this in Baby Loss Awareness Week has given us an opportunity to talk to so many people between Leeds and Liverpool. Every conversation has been a chance to break the silence -

Tomorrow’s target is 35km 🦋🛡️

Tiredness creeping in today for sure. The strain yesterday had was noticeable. Although started the day relatively fresh thanks to a great treatment after the walk yesterday from on the recommendation of .

On the positive side, we managed our time a lot better today and have finished much earlier. That means more chance for recovery 🤌

We also received £60 just in cash donations today. Which goes to show that once people hear about the walk, and see how big of a challenge it is, they really want to help with a donation.

If you haven’t had a chance to share the donation page with anyone yet please do. Even pick just one person to send it to.

Let’s see what day four brings 🦋🛡️

Quite a lot of hills and stairs today, but that’s day two chalked up. Toughest part of today was a few miles of really uneven, rocky ground. Very draining physically and mentally. Taking this on for Baby Loss Awareness Week makes it worthwhile.

But also had some great conversations with people again today about what I’m doing and why. Including a great chat with some lovely people from on the canal in Skipton.

But you take the rough with the smooth. Rest and reset. We go again tomorrow.

First day down, six more to go.

Had some great conversations with people today about why I’m walking around with a beer keg strapped to my back. It’s been a great opportunity to talk about baby loss and the importance of raising awareness.

Thanks to everyone who donated today and to everyone for the ongoing support 💪

If you haven’t had a chance yet, you can donate and find out more at the link in bio 🦋🛡️

A keg carry with a difference for Baby Loss Awareness Week.

The challenge starts tomorrow. As you can imagine, I’m feeling a lot of mixed emotions. Nerves, excitement, pride. And my heart goes out to everyone who is suffering through baby loss.

To everyone who’s following along. We are a community because we share an interest in easing the suffering of those who experience baby loss. That’s an amazing thing. Thank you.

Please share or repost this post to get this message in front of more people.

Please donate at the link in our bio. It’ll take less than a minute.

Let’s go! 🦋🛡️
