Our length of service pin badge application form is now live, and we are in the process of e-mailing all our members so they can apply for their respective badges.

All our members should have an e-mail before 5pm on Friday 23rd October.

As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations this year, we have rolled out our length of service recognition pin badges to commemorate 5, 10 and 15 years’ service with HM Coastguard. We also have a special pin badge for our members who have retired from service.

Everyone who is a member of the Coastguard Association, or joins throughout our 50th anniversary year, will be eligible to receive their most recent service milestone as part of their annual membership.

We truly value the commitment and dedication of our members and their service to HM Coastguard and their communities, and that’s why we have rolled out our length of service recognition.

And this isn’t just part of our 50th anniversary. All our members will continue to receive length of service recognition pin badges for five, ten and 15 years’ service as part of their membership as they continue their coastguard journey.

Storm Austen is set to bring disruptive wind and rain ⚠️

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind across parts of southern England and Wales for Friday 23 October.

Gusts could reach 50-60mph, and coastal and exposed areas could see 70mph or more.

Stay safe at the coast:

• Stay away from cliff edges as sudden gusts can cause you to lose balance

• Avoid standing directly beneath cliffs as rocks and debris can fall

• Keep back from the shoreline and look out for large breaking waves

Visit the HM Coastguard website for more advice on staying safe at the coast.

If you see someone in difficulty at the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
