It was a busy varied evening across the group this week.

🐹 Beavers continued working towards their Nature Beaver Badge, learning about how we care for our pets. They were delighted to welcome two special visitors when Rainbow brought along her guinea pigs for everyone to meet.

🔍 Cubs put their observation and teamwork skills to the test with a variety of scavenger hunts, racing to find objects matching different letters of the alphabet, colours and other challenges.

🌿 Scouts spent the evening working alongside the fantastic Readstone Environment Group, helping to tackle Himalayan Balsam along a local stream. The Scouts worked hard clearing a section of the watercourse and learnt about the impact this invasive plant can have on our local environment. They thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of “Balsam Bashing” and, of course, the opportunity for a little adventure exploring around the stream!

A huge thank you to Readstone Environment Group for their support and for giving our Scouts the opportunity to get involved in such a worthwhile community project.

Another busy evening of learning and adventure this week!

🌊 Beavers and Cubs focused on water safety, learning how to stay safe around rivers, lakes and the sea, and what to do if they ever find themselves in difficulty.

🌿 Scouts welcomed the fantastic Readstone Environment Group, who taught them all about Balsam Bashing and the importance of tackling invasive species. The Scouts are looking forward to helping the group next week with the removal of Himalayan Balsam in the local area.

📋 A reminder to Scout families that letters have been given out regarding next week’s meeting, as we will not be meeting at the Village Hall.

A huge thank you to Readstone Environment Group for taking the time to visit us and share their knowledge.

Welcome back everyone! We have lots of exciting activities planned for the half term ahead and can’t wait to get started.

This week all our sections enjoyed a games night packed with fun, laughter and friendly competition.

Unfortunately, everyone was having so much fun that nobody remembered to take any photos! 📸😂

A great start to the new half term and we’re looking forward to sharing more adventures with you over the coming weeks.

It’s so let’s say thank you to all our great leaders and helpers.

Our Scouts had a fantastic weekend away camping at Waddecar Scout Centre, sleeping in hammocks — and we’re pleased to say everyone managed to sleep and nobody fell out!!

Throughout the weekend they learnt and developed lots of outdoor skills including bushcraft, cooking on open fires, raft building and bouldering.

A brilliant weekend full of adventure, teamwork and plenty of memories made.

A huge thank you to all our fantastic leaders and helpers who give up their time to make opportunities like this possible for our young people.

Another busy evening full of learning and adventure across the group!

🌼 Beavers continued working towards their Nature Beaver Badge by making beautiful pressed flower bookmarks.

🥕 Cubs started their Gardener Badge, planting carrots and learning how to grow their own vegetables.

🔥 Scouts got ready for this weekend’s hammock camp by practising putting up hammocks and taking part in important safety talks about using axes, knives and saws ready for cooking on open fires. Fingers crossed the weather stays kind for the camp!

We were also delighted to invest 3 new Beavers and 3 new Cubs into the group — welcome to you all!
