Goodness me time has really flown by since our production of All Hands! finished! We've been beavering away behind the scenes to take down the stage and return all of our props and costumes to their homes.

If you've been down to Marine Cove recently you'll also have noticed that we've restored the flowerbeds and given them a bit of a breather. A big thank you to Magpie fencing and landscaping for doing a great job of removing the turf so neatly and putting in the new flowers for us. We're looking forward to seeing them grow and spread out over the coming months.

A Polite reminder.
Please do not release goldfish into the ponds. We do not have the facilities to give them the proper care that they need.
Thank you

We are taking part in No Mow May!
"No Mow May is Plantlife’s annual campaign calling all garden owners and green space managers not to mow during May – liberating your lawns and providing a space for nature. We’ve lost nearly 97% of flower rich meadows since the 1970’s and with them gone are vital food needed by pollinators, like bees and butterflies."

FREE Children’s Easter Egg Hunt at Marine Cove Gardens
To help celebrate Easter, the Friends of Marine Cove will be running a FREE children’s easter Egg hunt.
The Easter Egg hunt session is on Sunday 16th April, between 11am and 1pm at the Marine Cove Gardens on the Esplanade.
Supervised children aged from three years upwards are welcome to drop in to take part. It is completely free. There will also be a balloon modeller creating fantastic balloon animals.
Children will be encouraged to find 6 different chicks and bunnies dotted around the gardens, winning a small egg or small toy once the hunt is complete.
This will be a good chance for children to use their imagination and see what the Easter Bunny has hidden.

For further information on this event, please contact [email protected] or Tel; 01278 435436

Marine Cove Story

Following a successful funding application to the Heritage Lottery Fund and support from the Town Council, District Council and Viridor, the restoration project of Marine Cove Gardens was completed in December 2011. The garden, owing to being in a conservation area has been restored to how it would have looked in the 1920s, when the garden was officially opened by Mr Braithwaite in 1926. At the time is was a very exciting project for the town. The volunteer group, Friends of Marine Cove was set up to enable the project to move forward and they have an important role within the gardens for them to continue to be a success. It is hoped this page can encourage more volunteers and Friends of the project through marketing and events – to use this unique slice of Burnhams history.
