Update from
Helping Our Homeless Wales

Over the past 18 months, our charity has faced significant challenges. We have worked tirelessly to overcome these difficulties and to restore the charity to the position it needed to be in. Throughout this time, our focus has remained firmly on our core mission โ€” to support and assist the homeless community.

Unfortunately, in order to maintain this focus, we have had to make difficult decisions regarding our other charitable projects. By streamlining our efforts, we have been able to provide on average 300 meals per month , give out emergency essential items and administer first aid through our weekly outreach in Cardiff City Centre. Many of the individuals we have supported have been with us since the charity first began.

Regrettably, despite our best efforts, we have now had to temporarily suspend all operations of the charity. We are currently facing legal proceedings relating to a tenancy dispute. This has placed us in a very difficult position โ€” we are unable to apply for grants, secure funding, or conduct fundraising activities at this time, as any funds raised would not go directly to our beneficiaries, and we do not feel it would be appropriate to proceed under these circumstances.

We are deeply concerned about the impact this will have on our homeless community we serve. For many, we have been the first point of contact for help and support after the weekend. We have built strong relationships and care deeply for their wellbeing.

At this time, we would be grateful to hear from any charities or organisations that may be able to provide assistance. Our hope is to ensure that our outreach continues so that no one is left facing greater hardship. While we cannot provide financial support at present, we can offer volunteers and donated items to help.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible volunteers over the years, as well as to the communities of Mid and South Wales and beyond, who have fundraised, donated, and supported our mission. We are equally grateful to every follower of our page and to those from across Wales and further afield who have stood by us.

We truly hope this is not the end for Helping Our Homeless Wales. In the meantime, our priority remains ensuring that essential provisions reach those in need.
