Seachange Devon is a charity that works to improve the health and happiness of communities in East Devon, specifically in Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth, and Woodbury. They provide a range of services including community and fitness classes, NHS outpatient services like physiotherapy and podiatry, private medical appointments, a gym, a cafe, and volunteer-led community transport. The charity also aims to reduce social isolation and loneliness by offering social activities, a Memory Café for those with memory loss, and opportunities for volunteering.

As if Neil’s legendary mature Cheddar scones don’t fly off the shelf and out the oven quick enough already for our amazing customers…….

You need to try his new Blue Cheese and caremalised onion scones, they are to die for! 🤤🤤

3 months ago I took over the cafe at Seachange working with them. I didn’t have anything in the storeroom, fridges or freezer. Where we are today has been built completely from scratch. I’m a little bit proud of that. I have had the pleasure of meeting so many people and actually finding my love of cooking, baking and being at work again because of you. For those of you who don’t know me…….I have been a chef for 29 years, I trained at the 1 Michelin star Castle hotel in Taunton, Somerset. I then spent time near London (Cliveden House) and other places. Many years in France until the pandemic hit in a 2 Michelin star as the 2nd in command. I came home and did a stint on a fishing trawler, plus some other silly stressful jobs. I left the 250 bedroom Marriott in Exeter as the head chef to join Seachange. Why……….? I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder and it was the best thing to happen to me. It made me take stock, it made me revise my life (not sure if my Kate is happier I’m home more) 🤣 she is. So now here is the new chapter, I have time to myself, my loved ones and my Border Collie Merlin again. Here’s to living and thank you for making me feel so very very welcome. I hope you’re enjoying our ever adjusting cafe Also if you’ve not been yet……why not?
