Day to day management is the responsibility of Janet Pester, our Manager, helped by her Assistant, Kathryn Perry, and a group of enthusiastic volunteers. We rely on donations, street and store collections, legacies, sponsorship and organise events (for example a recent and very successful Golf Day) for fundraising.

Where are we located?

In 2017 we relocated from the Norman Centre to the Budleigh Salterton Health and Wellbeing Hub on East Budleigh Road.

We gained a large, comfortable, well-furnished lounge with separate dining room, a bathroom for our trained staff to provide assisted bathing and an adjoining car park. We are planning to take advantage of the extensive grounds and will have a summer house and outdoor furniture installed next year.

Another enormous benefit of being at our new venue means we have access to a host of other facilities such as the Launchpad café, gym, holistic therapies, mental health guidance, memory café, physiotherapy, yoga, balance classes and NHS outpatient services. Adjacent to us is the Carousel Nursery and the children visit regularly to delight and entertain with their singing and dancing and sometimes undertake joint craft projects. We are just an enviable ten minute walk from the seafront.

Relocation to The Hub is an exciting opportunity for us to extend our service even further and as we pursue our proposed expansion we are extremely grateful to have support and sponsorship of the League of Friends and Norman Trust. We will continue to develop a network of shared cooperation with other departments in the Hub and forge greater links with the local community.

We can stay open longer and are investigating the demand for things such as a film club, a series of talks, dance and music sessions, gardening, a book club, creative classes, day trips, etc whilst retaining all that we do best. Serving as a conduit for social interaction amongst the 50+ generation and providing day and respite care in a warm, friendly environment. We will be certainly looking to recruit more volunteers including those who can offer a specific hobbies skill.
