😳Update Two more Tawnys in trouble involved in RTA , also a poor barn owl that we sadly had to put to sleep had horrible broken wing and other injuries, it has possibly hit a power line 😭. Then a kestral found at Northcott mouth , no obvious injuries but something is not right plus’s fly blown hedgehog all in less than 24 hours 🤦🏽‍♀️ 😢🙏
Thanks to Pas for help with Barn Owl , Kestrel and hedgehog. 🙂

Tonight we released the Tawny Owl that had been found injured in Stanford Bridge. Now he’s back home, short video as very dark but lovely to see him go .
But at the same time picked up another injured Tawny from Castle vets . One out and one in 🤦🏽‍♀️🦉🦉

Today we went to Clovely to pick up this beautiful feisty young gannet. It was found at 5:20 yesterday when the finders reported it the RSPCA they we promised someone would be out to collect it. This morning they rang them again to say the bird had been in a box for over 12 hours 🤦🏽‍♀️ at 9 am they were promised a call back . At 12:50 they rang me as they were so worried. We were there within the hour. Got him home and gave him fluids and will have it vet checked in the morning as has a poorly leg. I got a message from finders to say the RSPCA had called to say sorry but they can’t help 24 hours after the first call 🤦🏽‍♀️ It’s shocking why they couldn’t say that at the beginning. 🤬
Where’s Paul when I need him 🤣I know he will help when he can and he gave me some great advice as tubing a gannet is not that easy 🥴. Thank goodness Barry was here to help 😘. The bird has rings I am will be reporting the rescue. It will be interesting to know where it came from. I’m not going to be able to do this all the time with seabirds and if a huge organisation like the RSPCA can’t help, I don’t know what’s going to happen 😭

This gorgeous Tawny was found in the road after possibly hitting a car. It was dazed but no obvious injuries. Is feeding well now and will soon be released back home x

Today I went looking for a this buzzard, but the directions I was given I couldn’t find it . So I thought it had possibly flown away . 7 hours later I had another call saying the poor bird was still there. I said I had hunted for him and we realised I was looking in the wrong place . So the lovely guy said I will put an arrow in the road to show you where he is. Ingenious idea but couldn’t stop laughing when I saw it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣but at least we found the poor buzzard . 🙏

Just found this from 5 years ago , the swan spent 2weeks with me on medication after being injured. Then I released it back to its partner and it was just amazing 🥲 the heart they made with their necks said it all 🥰

Not bad for 16 and a half years 🥰
Got to admit I did get something in my eye 😭 what a little star 🌟

Thanks to vets Callum and Laura at Tamar vets for checking over this very poorly Tawny who has a bad case of Trichomoniasis , this is a killer if not treated. The bird would not be able to eat or bring up a pellet as throat practically blocked 😢so will need regular treatment and fluids. 🙏
