🌿 Have you seen Bude Friends of the Earth's Biodiversity Trail leaflet? 🦋

Created and maintained by Bude Friends of the Earth, the Biodiversity Trail has been designed to enhance and celebrate the wonderful wildlife and green spaces around Neetside and the Castle.

Featuring a beautiful, hand-drawn map, the leaflet guides you around the trail, highlighting some of the fantastic spots that provide valuable habitats for bees, butterflies, birds, bats and hedgehogs, while raising awareness of the vital role pollinators play in our food system. 🌼🐝

The trail even includes the area around our very own Neetside Community Centre!

Along the way, you’ll discover a traditional orchard and wildflower meadow, which Bude Friends of the Earth continue to enhance throughout the year, particularly at blossom time. 🌸

Why not pick up a leaflet and explore the trail for yourself? It’s a lovely way to discover some of Bude’s green spaces, learn more about our local wildlife and see the fantastic work Bude Friends of the Earth are doing to support biodiversity in our community. 🌱

🦔 We've got some new residents at Neetside! 🦔

It looks like we've got a family of hedgehogs making themselves at home in the wild garden areas around Neetside. ❤️

This hoglet was found amongst the cars in our parking spaces earlier today by our wonderful Finance Officer, Debby, after a gentleman popped in to let us know he'd seen two hedgehogs exploring the area. Thankfully, it was safely rescued and is now being looked after by the lovely team at Tamar Vets.

With that in mind, we'd like to ask everyone visiting Neetside to please take a little extra care when driving and parking, just in case there are any prickly little pals nearby.

Thank you for helping us keep our newest neighbours safe! ❤️

Hirer Update - John Walter

Some news worth sharing: my new website is live, and my focus has sharpened with it. I'm now a counsellor specialising in couples and relationship work, with individual counselling and work with children and young people continuing alongside.

Plenty of counsellors see couples alongside other work; for me it's the centre. It's where most of my hours go, and it's the focus of my ongoing advanced training in relational psychotherapy at the NAOS Institute.

Couples counselling is for any couple: married or not, new or decades in, LGBTQ+ couples included. If things between you have gone flat, stuck, or distant, that's the work I do, in person here at Neetside and online.

A word on timing, since I know the centre hears from people weighing up mediation. Mediation isn't work I offer. But many couples reach that point having never had a room to talk in, and coming earlier, while things are strained rather than ended, changes what's possible. And where a relationship is ending anyway, counselling can help two people part with less damage done, which matters most when children are involved.

Individual counselling is open to women and men alike. Whatever you're carrying, loss, anxiety, a life change, or something harder to name, you don't need the right words to begin.

I also see children and young people, in person in Bude. If you're a parent or carer wondering whether counselling might help your child, I'm glad to talk it through.

I've a few places open at the moment, and the first step is always a free phone call: no forms, no commitment, just a conversation. Ring 07501 222779 or visit www.johnwaltercounsellor.com
