Some of you in the comments of our latest post weren't sure what the Yurvac vaccination is all about, here’s what you need to know! 🐰👇

To stay fully protected, your bunnies need *TWO* separate vaccines:

1️⃣ The ‘Triple’ Vaccine: Covers Myxi, RVHD1, and RVHD2.
2️⃣ The Yurvac Vaccine: Covers the new, highly virulent strain of RVHD2.

💉 Spaced Out: These two vaccinations must be given separately, at least 2 weeks apart.

🗓️ Annual Boosters: Both vaccinations require a booster every 12 months.

🏠 Indoor Bunnies Need It Too! Calicivirus can easily travel inside on your shoes, clothes, or foraged hay and grass. Indoor or outdoor, ALL rabbits need full protection!

*Why Are We Talking About This?*
The Yurvac vaccine has been available since December 2024, so it’s concerning to us that many vets still don’t stock it or haven't even heard of it.

Vetinary practices everywhere, please hear us, rabbit rescues across the country are trying to home responsibly

However we have a problem which is conflicting information! Some practices know nothing about rabbits or their welfare.

We rabbit owners would rather you just said this and send us somewhere else
We would actually respect you for being honest!

The horror stories we have heard from rabbit parents trying to do the right thing.

All that aside our main concern is the Yurvac vaccination, a good 18 months -2 years after our first vaccination day it worries me that some vets still dont offer it but treat rabbits.
Some vets have never heard of it.
And some vets are actively saying you dont need it!

Our potential adopters want to get their rabbits vaccinated, it's part of our adoption requirements.
If their vet doesnt do it we say change your vet, simple as that.

We want to know if your practice stocks Yurvac or is going to be stocking it, people out there want it.
Come on you vetinary practices take control.
We would like to recommend you.

Pedigree French Lops, Dutch, Netherland Dwarfs, Belgian Hares… they’re all gorgeous.

But you know what’s even better?

A beautiful little crossbreed with a rescue story! ❤️

Why breed purely for looks when there are so many wonderful rabbits waiting in rescue?

Forget the fancy pedigree. Forget the “perfect” colour.

Look at the personality. Look at the character. Look at the bunny. 🐰

Because the best breed of all?
