We have a very important question.

Who would you choose?

Our sponsor residents come from all sorts of backgrounds: from former police and military horses to rescued ponies and retired working horses.

Some are enormous.
Some are tiny.
Some are dignified.
Some have… other qualities.

Whichever one steals your heart, your sponsorship helps us provide care across the whole herd.

Sponsor from just £4 a month for yourself or as a gift.

Meet them via the link in bio. HTx 💚

While we are definitely delighted for the rain (and so is the grass!), Edinburgh has accurately depicted all of our faces at the miserable weather today.

Who else is feeling a bit like Edinburgh this afternoon? Let us know in the comments! HTx 💚

The leaves might only just be changing, but behind the scenes our team is already thinking about winter.

For every resident, colder weather brings different considerations - from forage and field management to weight monitoring, grooming winter coats, medication and individual feeding plans.

There is no one size fits all approach when you’re caring for a herd full of different ages, backgrounds and needs.

And yes, we are also mentally preparing ourselves for the mud. Lots and lots of mud.

Thank you for helping us give every resident the individual care they deserve. HTx 💚

Featuring: Vella, Meg, Poppy, Arras & Zara.

Brain games for the herd!

Milly, Molly, Gus, Lola, and Nora spent some time in the indoor school exploring a fun enrichment setup! We introduced new textures, heights, tastes, and smells to challenge their senses and keep things interesting.

Enrichment is a vital part of donkey care, it encourages natural foraging behaviors, boosts confidence, prevents boredom, and keeps their minds sharp. As you can see, you don't need complicated setups to make a huge difference; simple techniques can be incredibly effective!

Which part of the setup do you think was their favourite? HTx 💚
