Last week, we were pleased to welcome Callum Anderson MP to our solar farm, where we highlighted the impact of our Bee Green Grant Fund.
Since 2016, the fund has awarded over £300,000 to local organisations within 5km of Gawcott — supporting village halls, schools, sports clubs and charities including Citizens Advice Bucks.
From energy-efficiency upgrades to renewable installations and community support services, the Bee Green Fund helps turn local green ideas into reality 🌍
If your organisation has a project that could benefit, we’d love to hear from you.

Last Monday, before heading down to London for a busy (and eventful…) week in Parliament, I had the pleasure of visiting the Gawcott Fields Community Solar project! ☀️
The site has been generating electricity – and income from the sun - since June 2016. What really stood out to me is what they do with the surplus income. After covering operating and finance costs, they invest it straight back into our local communities, funding community-led energy and environmental projects in the parishes within 5km of the solar farm.
They have already done fantastic work with local schools, and I loved hearing about their plans to go even further in the years ahead.
Over its 25 year lifetime, the solar farm is projected to generate around £2.8 million for local projects, with a minimum annual contribution of £30,000. That is a real, lasting investment in our area.
The visit was also well timed. Labour's Department for Energy Security and Net Zero published our Local Power Plan, backed by up to £1 billion to support locally owned clean energy generation - including projects like solar on libraries and leisure centres. Gawcott Fields shows exactly why this matters.
A big thank you to Ross, Gabby and Tony for taking the time to show me around and share the story of this brilliant local project!
