๐ŸŽ‰ PROMOTIONS! ๐ŸŽ‰

Over the past few weeks, our Squadron Rank Structure has seen several well-deserved changes.

Promoted from Sergeant to Flight Sergeant: FS Aston and FS Halinowski have shown outstanding dedication to our cadets and the Squadron. They have been instrumental in developing Junior NCOs and supporting new cadets through their training and progression.

Promoted from Corporal to Sergeant: Sgt Wojciechowski has made excellent progress in his own training while helping newer cadets develop their skills and confidence.

Promoted from Cadet to Corporal: Cpl Koziel has shown excellent performance and development in training and helping other cadet develop their skills too.

Our staff continue to achieve great things as well, Sgt McLeish recently attended RAF Cranwell to complete his Combined Initial Course, gaining the skills and knowledge required to serve as a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer. He received his certificate from the Deputy Commandant of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, Gp Cpt Adcock.

Congratulations to everyone on these achievements. Your hard work, commitment, and dedication are greatly appreciated, and these promotions are thoroughly deserved.

Well done to all! ๐ŸŽŠ

Building the future, one circuit at a time โš™๏ธโœจ

Robotics is where innovation meets curiosity bringing STEM to life through hands-on learning, teamwork, and problem-solving. Our Wing Aviation Officer came to our Squadron last week to teach our cadets skills such as coding and engineering to designing and testing, letting the cadets develop real-world skills that go far beyond the classroom.

Itโ€™s more than just robots itโ€™s about creativity, resilience, and preparing the next generation to lead in a technology-driven world. ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ”ง

Today, 1756 (Broxburn) Sqn proudly took part in the annual Remembrance Parade, joining veterans, serving personnel, and members of the community to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Marching with pride, our cadets reflected on the courage and dedication of those who served in conflicts past and present. It was a privilege to stand alongside others in paying tribute to the fallen and reaffirming the enduring spirit of remembrance โ€” lest we forget.

A few weeks ago our squadron went to Ayr International Festival of Flight โœˆ๏ธ

Our cadets and staff had a blast ๐Ÿ’ฅ with taking pictures of fast jets and aircraft. There was many different types of aircraft from all over the world ๐ŸŒ, from Royal Air Forceโ€™s very own RAF Red Arrows to the Royal Canadian Air Force Hercules ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ. There was lots of displays to see and here are some of our pictures from the show!

๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท Battlefield Tour โ€“ Belgium & France 2025 ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช
Last week, cadets from across Scotland & Northern Ireland Region Royal Air Force Air Cadets took part in a deeply moving Battlefield Tour across Belgium and France, honouring those who served in the First World War.

Cadets explored historic cemeteries, memorials, and battlefield sites, learning about the soldiersโ€™ experiences, the realities of trench warfare, and the decisions that shaped history. From personal stories of bravery to the strategic challenges of war, the tour offered powerful insights into the human cost of conflict.

๐Ÿ“ Highlights included:

โ€ข Visiting military museums and preserved trench systems
โ€ข Learning about key battles and individual soldiersโ€™ stories
โ€ข Reflecting at Commonwealth cemeteries and memorials
โ€ข Taking part in the poignant Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ypres

This experience not only deepened cadetsโ€™ understanding of WWI history, but also strengthened their appreciation for the values of service, sacrifice, and remembrance.

๐Ÿ™ Special thanks to John from Anglia Tours for his expert guidance, and to Craig and Davie from Temporal Travel for their outstanding support throughout the journey.

โ€œThey shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.โ€

Tonight the squadron was paid a visit from WO Cook from 161 Inverness Squadron!

The cadets were given a handful of engaging and fun teamwork tasks to complete. These activities gave the cadets the opportunity to work together, practice communication their skills, and get to know each other better.

Teamwork is an essential skill in the Air Cadets, the military, and civilian life because it builds trust, enhances communication skills, and ensures tasks are completed efficiently. Teamwork can be the difference between success and failure in high-pressure situations, where coordination and mutual support are critical. Working effectively with others leads to better problem-solving and more productive workplaces. Across all areas, teamwork helps individuals achieve goals they may struggle to accomplish alone. ๐Ÿ…
