Nicky's turn to take the photos now...
With VAJ finished other than the installation of a Water2 filter system, it's time to make a start on my build. This was supposed to be a "build off" but Nicky and I worked so well as a team we decided to just concentrate on one build at a time.
I've got some ideas that are very different to what we've done in the past, I know this is not going to be as pretty a build as Nickys but it'll be a build that ticks a few boxes for a certain "Vanlifestyle".
So today I fitted 400w of Renogy Shadowflux solar panels after being impressed with a test I did a while ago... and don't they fit so neat side by side. On an L3 800w and a maxxfan would fit up there a treat.

More alterations to our main off grid van today.
Nicky made a great Maxxair cover for the fan above the bed (never again way too much noise and light finds it's way through that thing), just stick to one up front.
I also filled in the door step area with some lino we had left over. 5 years ago we intended to turn that area into a hidden shower tray but after 5 years of never really needing to shower, in favour of using less water in a good strip down sink wash, it made sense to fill it in and make it pretty.

So now she's an expert, she told me I'd fitted the Truma wrong when an error code came up so started stripping my second...

So now she's an expert, she told me I'd fitted the Truma wrong when an error code came up so started stripping my second build to pieces.
I had blocked off a top vent instead of a bottom one so worth a look.
How easy this van strips back to all services and how well the airflow works from the very front to the very back to always keep us condensation free even on the windows.
Pretty much leaving her to it, she decided to open up the spare vent and pipe it into the cab... What a difference.
She has more suggestions!!!!

Those seat bases are a good solid base with 4 handy holes I could make a support frame with some offcuts of extruded alloy I had. A couple of nice cover plates with pocket mesh added and "boom"... a swivel table.

Grabbed 8 days away to travel the Northumberland 250 which didn't dissapoint.
Used a mix of Aires, car parks and a couple of nights at camp sites starting with great fish and chips at Saltburn.

Nice to have a day doing bits and bobs to our main adventure van today.
Made a small adjustment to fit in my cross bike today instead of the 2 emtbs we take with us.
Also fitted the VanAlarm we've had for a few months for great peace of mind.
Quite a few upgrades coming soon as fashions and technologies move forward.

Seems to be her favourite coffee spot.I've made a thingy too and it's gonna work a treat.

Still adding finishing touches with draw liners and a frame around the open piece between the overhead lockers.
Denim cushion to arrive soon for the toilet chest and blinds to make but no real rush now.
Let's see how far we now get with my build before we stop for winter.
