We are thrilled to have been recognised by the National Churches Trust as their thanks to our successful Spire Project and the wonderful heritage engagement events we held during the project.

The trust's Head of Communications attended a service led by the Bishop of Worcester who thanked the Friend's team for their work to repair the spire and support the local community with events.

How wonderful to be mentioned in Parliament today by Bradley Thomas MP

We are enormously grateful for the consistent support from our MP who has continued to help to raise the profile of our important heritage building and the need for funding to keep heritage buildings restored, for the benefit of the community 🙏

One of the highlights of our Spire Project has been the collaborations with local organisations. The wonderful students from Chadsgrove Educational Trust Specialist College visited the church in June 2024 to learn about the project, the heritage, play the organ and develop their life skills.

What a joy it was to welcome them back to show them the rebuilt spire apex in the churchyard, and thank them for their contributions.

Although our Spire Project started off with a building restoration need, it developed in many wonderful ways, because of the people who supported, collaborated and became a huge part of the success story. It's been really heart warming and the legacy lives within those who invested themselves in what we did ❤️

Our Spire Project was made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund and supported by so many including National Churches Trust Garfield Weston Foundation Benefact Trust Bromsgrove Society Bromsgrove Court Leet Completely Bromsgrove Rotary Club of Bromsgrove Avoncroft Museum
and of course it wouldn't have happened without our professional team from Phillips & Curry, c²designs, Oliver Architecture and Steve Allard & Son Stone Specialists

Alongside the building work we are developing Heritage Engagement panels for inside the building.

Historian Simon is creating spoken content for the website. We're also planning to link the content to our online virtual tour created by our wonderful friends at University of Wolverhampton. All very exciting!

This month's Completely Bromsgrove features the project's legacies. At the top of the spire those who were instrumental in making the Spire Restoration Project happen have their names carved into the stone.

On the ground the rebuilt removed spire apex celebrates centuries of support - a legacy for everyone. Those who laid the first stones in the 12th century, the people who dreamt of reaching into the sky in the 1400s and build the tower and the spire, and everyone who has played their part in restoring our much-loved building over the centuries to the present day.

The work would have been possible without the wonderful support of our generous funders - our thanks go to all.
