We have EXCITING NEWS!
We have OUR OWN SHOP!!
We have taken on a lease in Chapel street precinct which is just off the High street, on the walkway from Windsor street car park … obviously in Bromsgrove! Yay!
Thank you to our solicitor who has dealt with the lease process for us for the next 3 years
Thank you to the landlord who has been so amenable in negotiations
Thank you to the estate agent and managing agents who have also been so kind
This is a massive step for us AND a brave one after we were legally scammed out of our shop in the Spring of 2024 and even though we had spent 3 months doing it up we were only open for a month and we were sadly evicted.
Not this time! Totally different energy!
And we are SO excited to be back in Bromsgrove town centre reconnecting with all the lovely people we met last year and new ones too
We have already met the other shop keepers who are local to us in Chapel street and they are all lovely!
So it’s NEW beginnings for us!
We received the keys just over a month ago and our team have not only been caring for the horses, ponies, chickens and cats, fundraising and doing all the admin but ALSO they have been busy cleaning, and decorating and sorting stock and much more.
Our shop will be called “Gifts of Love”
We will sell gifts, greeting cards, vases, ornaments, journals, bags, handbags, crystals, incense and more lovely things downstairs including our merchandise, our horse mugs, our hoodies, our keyrings, our sponsor certificates and more
Upstairs we will be selling upcycled furniture, vintage and antiques plus ex show home furniture too
We will be a gift shop with a difference as all the profits will go to The Healing horse sanctuary in Bromsgrove.
As you probably know the Healing horse sanctuary has been going since 2008 and has rescued many horses and ponies from various challenging situations over the years.
We have helped these beautiful animals to recover and heal from their experiences in many different ways, working with our lovely vet and holistic practitioners too
Now they are well they are spreading happiness and healing , within therapy sessions with children and adults regularly. It’s beautiful to see the horses and ponies in action, uplifting the saddest, or poorly children and adults with their gentle loving nature. They often connection, friendship and hope, and much more.
Plus we offer other experiences too such as “Meet and Greets” and Open Days, meditation evenings and more
We have also rescued ex battery hens and feral cats too who also now live a happy life with us at the sanctuary and get on with the horses famously!
We do not receive any funding, we are self funded. So our shop, even though won’t be a traditional “charity shop” selling second hand clothes, it will be a gorgeous gift shop that will raise money and that will go straight to the horses and ponies so we can continue our work within the community
We will also have a couple of tables in the shop for folk to sit down and chat about sponsoring a horse or booking a therapy session etc or if someone just needs to talk to someone, they can. We are very much into spreading kindness and we are a friendly bunch of folk who are easy to talk to so we feel our shop will be a meeting place for folk to connect and chat too
Susie, Dean, Gemma and Emelene will be in the shop mostly and there will be other volunteers too so come in to say “hello” and support us
We will be opening on Friday 8th August at 10am till 4pm
We will then be open every day 10am till 4pm except Sundays and Wednesdays when we will be closed to rest (and probably catch up on hugging horses!)
So come along and celebrate with us our new beginning!
