🚨 DAN GRADE ALERT!!! 🚨Following a grading on 09/08/2026 Forge Shotokan is pleased to announce the awarding of Sandan to Becky Broughall.

Becky started karate a long time ago and, like many of our current Karateka, had a break in training. Since she has been back training with us she has shown great spirit and application, particularly in kumite.

The culmination of that great attitude, application and ability has resulted in her being awarded Sandan, and cementing her position as a senior grade at the Forge dojo.

Years of hard training, and assisting kyu grade development and progression, have aided in Becky’s development and subsequent achievement of Sandan. All at Forge Shotokan would like to congratulate Becky on her latest achievement.

Congratulations!🥋👊💥

Last Sunday 28th June, we were again delighted and privileged to host another mixed styles course, this time at our home Forge Dojo in Stoke Prior. Our hugely experienced and knowledgable instructors were Sensei Calvin Collins, Sensei Glyn Jones and Forge Shotokan Chief Instructor Stuart Hughes.

On a hot and humid day in the midlands, it was a brilliant session, and well done to all who attended, especially given the heat and conditions. Great attendance and participation from all involved.

Many thanks to Sensei Calvin Collins and Sensei Glyn Jones for being so generous with their time and the well structured and considered nature of their parts of the course. Stay tuned the next one. Come and train with us, all are welcome! 🥋👊💥

Another exceptional seminar with Tsukada Sensei (9th Dan, Sh*to Ryu) on Sunday 19/10/2025 at our Aston Fields Dojo. We covered kata bunkai for Heian/Pinan Yondan and some great partner drills. Another edition in a enlightening series of courses we are proud to be a part of. Again, many thanks to Sensei Calvin Collins for including us on this and thanks to all that attended, a great turn out. We hope to see you all soon, we train on Sunday nights if anyone wants to come and train with us. 🥋👊💥

Following recent successes, we are proud to present the next in our series of mixed styles karate courses at the Forge Shotokan Dojo in Aston fields.

Continuing the format, in this course our focus will be on Maai and distances; 3 instructors from 3 differing styles will be offering their outlook on what this means within their style and how this is applied.

Come along and train with others from different styles and see how we all apply similar principles in different ways, and have a great time in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Get in touch if you require any further details, and why not visit our newly-refurbished website🥋👊💥
