Welcome to the team Mark 😀

County Lead Volunteer – Moving Forward Together

I’m incredibly pleased to share that I have been appointed as the County Lead Volunteer for Scouts Hereford & Worcester.

Earlier this year, I was asked to step in as Interim County Lead Volunteer during a particularly challenging period. Since then, it has been a privilege to work alongside some incredible people as we’ve brought greater stability, rebuilt confidence and started strengthening the foundations for the future.

Now, I’m hugely excited to lead the County into its next chapter.

My vision is for Scouts Hereford & Worcester to be a confident, ambitious and growing County — with strong leadership, thriving Districts and Groups, and volunteers who feel valued, supported and empowered.

I want us to think bigger: to grow Scouting, reach more young people, invest in our volunteers and move forward with an exciting and sustainable future for Kinver Scout Camp.

There will be changes ahead as we build the right team and structures to deliver that ambition, but our purpose remains simple — to make Scouting in Hereford & Worcester stronger for the future.

Most importantly, I want even more young people to experience adventure, gain skills for life and find a place to belong.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me.

An exciting new chapter starts here — and I can’t wait to see what we achieve together.

Best wishes
Mark Bache

Thank you to everyone that attended our AGM on Thursday. It was a lovely opportunity to say thank you to all our volunteers for the past 12 months of amazing Scouting.

District Lead Volunteer Viv used the evening to present a young leaders belt to Matt from 7th Bromsgrove, Matt completed the entire young leaders scheme including all training and missions shortly before his 18th birthday. We thank Matt for his ongoing commitment as he continues volunteering as an adult leader.

Viv also presented a number of commendation awards to adult volunteers across the district who have supported her as District Lead Volunteer .

This will be Viv’s last AGM as our District Lead as she steps down in the near future, District Chairman Rod thanked Viv for everything she has done for Scouting over her 12 years in the role.

Our thoughts are very much with the residents of Stourbridge, Pedmore and Hagley who have been affected by a wildfire.

One of our District Youth Leads visited the rest centre in Stourbridge last night, as well as delivering supplies his Scouting skills were put to good use helping out wherever he could.

Scouting provides and you never know when and where these skills will be needed. Thank you to Archie and everyone else that is supporting their local community at present.
