The Children’s Family Trust is one of the oldest and most established charitable independent fostering agencies in the UK. A charitable organisation has a single aim - to operate exclusively for the benefit of the public. That means everything we do, in the name of The Children’s Family Trust, acts in the best interests of our society and not to make a profit. Children and young people are in care

through no fault of their own and need a stable, safe and loving environment to develop and thrive. Our ethos has always been Family for Life, we provide -

Stability | Reliability | Therapeutic support

At The CFT we provide high-quality support for our carers, our carers' birth children and our looked after children. Our regional offices are based in Bromsgrove, Waterlooville, Bishop Auckland, Wakefield & Lincoln

Can you commit to a young person and change a looked after child's life for the better? In return, we promise extremely high-quality individual support, on-going training and professional development. You will also receive group support, excellent fees, respite provision, competitive mileage rates plus expenses.

There’s something special about seeing a trip through the drawings children bring back from it.

This post shares a few favourite moments from one of our residentials, captured in the way only children can: honestly, creatively and with all the best little details included.

Residential trips can give children and young people the chance to try new things, build confidence and come away with memories they want to keep.

For the Andrew Turner Awards this week, we’re celebrating more incredible children and young people from across The Children’s Family Trust.

These nominations recognise progress in many different forms, from learning new skills and growing in confidence, to supporting others, engaging with support and taking steps towards greater independence.

Every nomination tells its own story, and each young person deserves to be recognised for what they have achieved.

A huge well done to all of our nominees. 💛

Happy Father’s Day!

For every “I’ll sort it” before knowing how, for every time they've known the right route even when the sat nav disagrees, and for every moment spent being there when it matters.

To all the dads, foster dads, stepdads, grandads and father figures, thank you.

If you could offer care, patience and consistency to a child, fostering could be for you. Find out more at thecft.org.uk

Autistic Pride Day is a chance to celebrate autistic people and the many different ways children and young people experience the world.

In fostering, understanding often starts in the small moments: noticing what helps a child feel calm, giving them time to communicate, and being open to learning what works for them.

Fostering is not about having all the answers from day one. It’s about offering care, patience and consistency as you learn together.

Fostering can feel like a big step, especially if you’re not sure what support would be around you.

That’s why the team behind each fostering family matters.

In this post, Sarah Rockett, Registered Manager for our South Central region, shares a little of what that support looks like behind the scenes, from working with carers and children to helping her team provide care that is personal, adaptable and joined-up.

Fostering may not be for everyone, but you might have more to offer than you first thought.
