It’s “Good night” from us all at The Healing Horse Sanctuary

Horses have been cooled down and many bathed this evening 🦄🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🦄🐴🐴🐴🐴💦

Cats have been fed supper 🐱🐱🐱🐱

Chickens like gorgeous Penelope have had a roam at sunset and taken themselves off to bed 🐓🐓

The biggest THANK YOU to our day shift and night shift team and volunteers who have worked so hard today in this heat, doing so many extra jobs to keep our animals cool and healthy 👏🏻👏🏻

The biggest thank you to local business woman Huda and her son Roman for doing some amazing fundraising for us 💖💙

Huda runs The Sound School in Birmingham and worked in partnership with us to host an event at the sanctuary that her clients could attend 🎼🎼🎼

Guided tour of the sanctuary 🐴🦄🐱🐓

Sound bath 🎼🎼

This was to celebrate her 5 year anniversary of being in business 👏🏻👏🏻

And they raised an astonishing £644🥳

WOW!!😮

She drove over from Sutton Coldfield to tell us the great news and enjoyed a drink in our coffee shop in Bromsgrove town centre with her son 🤗☕️🧋🍰

When the media tells you the world is awful and people are selfish and terrible please remember this story … of an ordinary woman running a small business doing a selfless act with her son and her clients 💖💙

And to top it off Roman gifted our pony Sunny his birthday money of £20!🥲

Our lovely volunteer Cheryl decided to have a lie down in our hay store 😆

Well actually she slipped but she laughed it off as she landed on the soft bales of hay 😂

Don’t know about our horses being ok in this heatwave, we have to monitor the humans too in this heat 😂

We absolutely love Cheryl, she is a valued member of the team and doesn’t just volunteer 2 days a week, she does the stock taking every Monday, ensuring we have plenty of food (and hay) medicines, all supplies etc for the horses, ponies, chickens and cats then passes the list to Susie to action 🙏🏻

Plus she helps with the Meet & Greet experiences on Saturdays and is always helping us fundraise!👏🏻

Thank you Cheryl for all you do!🥰

So yesterday Sunny did what wise Shetland ponies do … and find the most shady place to keep cool from the heat!💙🐴🌞

Only thing is we couldn’t find him!☹️

Luckily we know he loves to go behind his field shelter so we took a good look there 😊

Sure enough he was backed right into the coolest place 😁

He is such a clever little pony!💙🐴🌿🌱

Everyone else were in their field shelters but Sunny prefers his only shady spot that no one else can fit in!😂

We love you Sunny!💙

THANK YOU to you lovely kind people who have come together to help our sweet Shetland pony Sapphire 💜 (Saffie for short)

As you may have read Saffie had the emergency vet out last Saturday night as we thought she had colic! Turns out it was bad Sweet itch! Phew!

So we asked for help with emergency vet bill, paying for creams, sprays and a posh proper sweet itch coat for Saffie 💜

And we received it 🙏🏻

Thank you 💕💕💕

We have the expensive coat arriving tomorrow as a lovely lady has bought it for her 💜🐴💜

And in the meantime the trustees have bought her an inexpensive fly rug which will temporarily help her (eventhough it’s not great quality and she’s already ripped a hole in it from rubbing herself 🫤)

Here she is modelling it … she looks adorable! 💜🐴💜

And we let her out of the ponies paddock onto the track to eat some long grass as she’s had a tough time and we thought it would cheer her up! Which is certainly did 😁🐴🌿🌱

This one photo below hilariously captures the boy ponies Thumper and Sunny looking miffed as they haven’t been allowed out to munch the grass 😂 Thing is they are very cheeky and stubborn and when we have let them out before they refuse to go back in😂 so it was just a treat for Saffie and she had a great time 🥳

We now have 60% of our target for Saffie with an amazing total of £510… THANK YOU 🤗

A big thank you to this lovely family who visited us yesterday to drop off some horse rugs (coats) and tack for us to sell at our Tack sale in October 😁

It was lovely to meet Janet & Mick and their lovely dog Chase who had just been to the vets but wasn’t phased by that one bit. He enjoyed some water before going back home with his human Mom & Dad for a snooze no doubt 💙🐶🤗

(The cats were nowhere to be seen while he was with us!🐱🐱🐱🐱😂)

We are always so grateful for lovely people donating stuff to us💙
