What grows here? Episode 5 🌱 Final episode!

New perspectives.

Sometimes stepping away from our usual surroundings gives us just enough space to see things differently.

A conversation.
A walk.
A day of quiet.
A new question.

We don’t always leave with answers. Sometimes we simply leave seeing things differently. And sometimes, that’s where something new can begin.

This is what grows here, at The Greenhouse at Barnes Close 🙌

What could you find at The Greenhouse at Barnes Close? 🤔

A quiet corner to pause.
A garden to wander.
Space to rest and reflect.
Time to breathe.
People to connect with.
And the Waseley Hills right on the doorstep.

What grows here? Episode 4 🌱

Courage.

The courage to ask difficult questions. To listen when we would rather defend ourselves. To face what hurts. And to keep choosing peace, justice and reconciliation when the easier option is to look away.

Greenhouse Recommends: Dear White Peacemakers by Osheta Moore 📚

A thoughtful book exploring racism, reconciliation and what it means to work towards peace with both courage and grace.

A challenging and important read for anyone wanting to listen, learn and take action.

Community.

People arriving with different stories, questions, experiences and hopes. People sharing food, conversation, silence, prayer and ideas. Because none of us can do the work of peace and justice alone - we need one another.

What grows here? Episode 2 🌱

Hope.

Every year, the Greenhouse at Barnes Close gives us these beautiful blackberries, growing alongside the thorns.

Perhaps that’s a little like hope. It doesn’t mean ignoring the difficult or painful things around us. It’s choosing to believe that something good can still grow, even amongst them.

Through retreat, reconciliation, learning and community, we make space for hope to take root.
